The good: The Samsung Flight II is a slim phone with a good slide-out QWERTY keyboard. It supports 3G networks and has GPS and a colorful display
The bad: The Samsung Flight II is much too sluggish for a modern phone, and its camera photo quality is blurry. It provided us with a poor 3G experience as well.
The bottom line: The Samsung Flight II may have decent multimedia features, but its overall sluggishness keeps us from recommending it.

This phone is pretty bad
by panushka on April 17, 2011
Pros: Clear calling, fast text message speed, and its durable
Cons: Lagging is really bad, it only holds like 100 text messages and it takes about 2 minutes to delete. The screen is plastic, and it takes many tries to use the touchscreen. Also pictures are blurry, the internet is slow and the design is kinda fat
Summary: This phone sucks. Dont buy it

battery life is a day at best with minimal use
by kidflango on June 10, 2011
Pros: Not many....
Cons: no battery life. Thought this was just our initial phone so we took it back and they replaced it. REalized after a few days that it is all Samsung Flight 2's. However, ATT wants us to pay a 35 restocking fee if we exchange it.
Summary: DO NOT GET no matter how cool it first appears.

Terrible Battery Life
by venusef on April 28, 2011
Pros: I have no PROs for this phone
Cons: I have been fighting with At&t about this phone for over a month. I've had 4 phone replacements. I hardly use the phone. Standby time on the battery life of the 4 phones I've had is less than 15 hours. This is terrible. DO NOT GET THIS PHONE

Summary: I bought this phone for the qwerty keyboard and for listening to music or books when working in the yard. Texting is the only thing better than my old dumb phone. While listening to music, phone keeps dialing first number in call list, even when locked. If I'm listening to a book and have to stop in the middle of a chapter, next time I listen it starts the chapter over. The user guid is so long, I stopped printing after I had a stack of paper 1/2" high. Aside from the qwerty keyboard, there is nothing about this phone that I like even as well, let alone better, than my old Sony. I've had the phone for a while now, so I don't think many people will be looking for this model. I just hope something better comes along. Not everyone needs or wants a smart phone, I just wish someone would make a simple phone with a qwerty keyboard.

Summary: I've had this phone for 2 years now and i cant wait to get a new one because this phone is simply bad. It is horribly slow (there is a .5 second delay for every touch). The widgets slow me down rather than helping me. Sometimes I try to tap something and i somehow tap the driving sound mode on and it beeps loudly. Also, alot of times I get a call and then somehow it rejects it and I call back and it just causes alot of annoyance and confusion. I have no idea why samsung would make this horrible phone.

I'd recommend a simpler phone over this one.

Pros: Touch screen is okay.
The phone looks pretty nice on the outside.Cons: Poor processing system
Keyboard isn't durable
Strange homescreens with annoying widgets
messages are displayed in the classic inbox style, rather than as conversations
other texting problems
Phone turns on when you slide it open

Summary: I've had this phone for 4 months after my phone of two years broke and my mother took my upgrade to get herself an iphone. I got this phone for $50 from the insurance company. I didn't mind too much until I actually received the phone. There is absolutely *nothing* I can go on to recommend this cell phone. There are so many software and design flaws, so this review will not cover all of them, just the most pertinent.
First, I guess I should say how I use my phones. As a high schooler, most of my phone use is texting. In fact, having the physical qwerty keyboard was really important to me, and caused me to select this phone over a touch screen phone. I also use the call feature, but usually only for quick calls, not long conversations. I also snap a few pictures now and then.
Texting Problems: First of all, I personally find the texting's caps system bizarre. If you press shift once you go into caps lock, rather than just capitalizing one letter. It doesn't make sense, but I guess it's okay once you get used to it. The keyboard also has other problems. I have had this phone since July, but already some of the keys on the keyboard do not function correctly. For example, I have to press the g button several times for a g to type, which is a major pain. Another problem is that if your hand even brushes against the bottom of the touchscreen while typing, it will send and there is NO way to stop it. Most of the time, this happens before I even type anything, so my friends have had to get used to receiving tons of blank texts.
The message screens are also unsatisfactory. On my old phone, conversations were shown like a conversation. Here texting goes back to the basics, which can make it harder to have a conversation via text which is what I mainly use my phone for.
Phone controls: I find the phone controls clunky. I wish that it was easier to get to the dial screen and other controls, but instead it locks the screen so you have to wait. This can be a lot of trouble when you're calling info or customer support lines.
Camera issues: This phone only comes with enough memory to hold 72 photos and a few hundred texts. This adds up fast, and I don't take many photos, but every now and then I take a few. Sure, you can expand the memory, but for the price of SD card, you might as well buy a cheap camera. This camera is fair, but not that great.
Other bad features: The phone turns on when you slide it open. Sometimes my phone slides open in my backpack, purse, or pocket. It also makes a beeping sound when there is a low battery. If you attend meetings or classes where beeping phones are not acceptable, your phone could cause major problems by just slipping open. (Also, once your phone dies of no battery, there is no power left. My other phone saved quite a bit of reserved energy for emergencies. After that battery dies, I hope you don't get into any sketchy situations)
The home screens are not great either. There are three which you access by dragging your finger across the screen. You can place widgets on them, but this causes problems, because often you drag the widget with you as you move to the next screen. This causes the homescreens to be messy and less functional.
Overall,This phone has significantly changed how I keep in contact with my friends. I don't text people or call just to say hi anymore, and it often takes 2-3x much time to send a simple message as it did on my old phone. I hate to use such coarse language, but basically, this phone is a piece of crap. -
Overly complicated...poor reception

Summary: This phone really blows..everything you want to do takes two or three steps, and leaves everything open after your done...like when you go into your contacts, and make a phone call, when you are done, the contacts is still open, and you have to hit the return button twice to get rid of the app.
Everything you want to do is complex or takes unnecessary steps.
I wish I could go back to my Chocolate Touch...it was so much simpler to use...and the contacts list closes after you choose whom you want to call. I wish I would have seen these reviews before I chose this beast. It is not as flat as my choco touch, the screen is not as big..and the worst of all NONE OF MY MUSIC OR VIDEO FILES ARE SUPPORTED ON THIS PIECE OF GARBAGE..3G2 NOT SUPPORTED, MP3 NOT SUPPORTED. All the junk added to this POS is totally useless, because they charge for any data usage, so Fb twitter or any other social app is not used..so I basically, I have just a phone with tons of useless garbage that will never be used. If I want to hear my tunes, or watch a video, I need to carry my touch. What a drag.
This phone is NOT clear in phone conversations...I keep having to say "what?". Never had that problem with Verison but with ATT, it seems I have to "move around" to get a clear sig.
Bottom line, if you have a choice, do not get this POS. Pay the extra and get an Android or iOS phone instead -
This phone SUCKS!!!
by sophiawashere on June 19, 2012

This phone is horrible!
by amberness4486 on June 8, 2012
Pros: QWERTY keyboard was fairly easy to get used to, and like the previous samsung phone I owned prior to purchasing this one... It has an easy to use interface and side dock which can be very useful.
Cons: SLOW!!! Everything you do using this phone has a significant lag time. Also, when checking voicemail, screen locks..i found out this is because when you are listening to your voicemail if the screen isnt locked you will hear 'message delted'
Summary: Phone is slow, has several functionality issues that will frustrate the user to no end. Not good for text, or any kind of internet browsing/streaming. If all you need ...
Summary: Phone is slow, has several functionality issues that will frustrate the user to no end. Not good for text, or any kind of internet browsing/streaming. If all you need is a simple phone that you will use for calls only, there are much better quality phones for a fraction of the cost. Do yourself a favor and stay away from this phone!
