The good: The Samsung Gusto 2's solid, compact design looks and feels good, and call quality was excellent on both sides of the line. Additional accessibility features are a bonus.
The bad: The Gusto 2's subpar resolution is out-of-date, there's a smaller-than-standard headset jack, and some people may find the convenience keys hard to press.
The bottom line: Verizon customers looking for a simple phone will appreciate the Samsung Gusto 2's emphasis on call quality and comfort, despite a few minor flaws.
Pros: Call quality, camera, and overall look / feel are all vast improvements over the original Samsung Gusto. Demo games are easily deletable. The fake call feature is an absolute godsend.
Cons: Terrible main screen resolution. Uncovered charging port can collect dust. Headphone jack smaller than standard. Dimwitted placement of the loudspeaker button means it will often be activated by left-handed users when closing the phone.

Summary: I bought this phone only because it was on sale for a penny less than the amount of airtime it came with, so as a free phone it was a no-risk proposition. I found that as basic clamshell phones for prepaid customers go it's probably the best value available as of this writing (and I've tried almost all of them), but when the Gusto 3 comes out I'd hope the fairly serious flaws I've listed above will be fixed, especially the first three. If you can find this phone at $9.99 with $10 airtime as I did and have use for (or prefer, as I do) a no-frills clamshell handset you'd be very wise to pick one up for yourself, but by no means pay the $79.99 MSRP (or even half that) for it.
Pros: Battery Life, Surface is a bit of a matte coating so it's less likely to drop, small size, never freezes or has other issues like that
Cons: Camera is a let down, text message slot is limited to 250 messages (I don't understand why when there is so much storage left on the phone)

Summary: It's a great basic phone. Call quality is a little better than average. It's cheap. It doesn't feel all that heavy or built well but more so than the last phone I had. As well as that the coating on it helps keep you from dropping it. I've only dropped it a few times, compared with my older phones I would drop just about once every other day. At the least. The camera sucks, but that is to be expected for these phones. Otherwise, great phone if all you want is to make calls and text.
Cons: The battery door is a little hard to get off at times, but besides that I'm happy.

Summary: I got this phone brand new for my grandfather, I'd previously tried a Gusto1 for a backup phone and hated the d*m* thing. I dropped calls constantly, keys pressed on their own, cameras never opened.
This phone was a pleasant surprise however. The keys are bigger, easier to type on. It's got a nice keypad, I sent a couple texts on it when I'd left my phone at home, and it has a fast, soft, raised-key keypad which is just AMAZING. The camera isn't anything to "write home about" but it's still good.
