The good: The Samsung Reality has an intuitive display, three home screens, a 3.5mm headset jack, a nice keyboard, and features that include a 3.2-megapixel camera, GPS, and stereo Bluetooth.
The bad: The Samsung Reality isn't quite as good as the Samsung Rogue, has almost the same design and features, and is also on Verizon Wireless. We also wished the photo quality was better.
The bottom line: On its own, the Samsung Reality is a great midrange multimedia phone, but it doesn't hold a candle to the Rogue, which has a better design and better features.
My first full featured phone
by Brightonsgirl on May 12, 2011
Pros: Battery life, durability, nice looking, great touch screen, sturdy slider, decent (not great) camera.
Cons: Not very intuitive to learn. Keyboard layout. Uselessly slow internet.

Summary: This is my first full featured phone. Have always had simple flip phones and only started texting 6 months ago when I got this phone. I am STILL making common mistakes with the keyboard for capslock and function keys because for some reason it just isn't sticking in my brain the right way to do it. The keyboard is a bit small and cramped and it's too easy to accidentally hit adjacent buttons.Decent. Especially since it was "free". Could be better.
Like other reviewers the wallpaper defaults to the ugly factory settings (crappy choices that are locked and you can't get rid of except temporarily), which is a bummer. I don't see the point of 3 home screens and get confused if I find myself on another one. Haven't ventured much into the widgets since I kinda didn't know about them because, as mentioned by others, the manual is not useful. Now that I have discovered my widgets I may enjoy it more.
The battery life is great and I have had NONE of the troubles others mention such as slow texts, random dialing, frequent freezes (has only happened once), random unlocking of the screen, odd noises, or poor sound quality. I pretty much never get a dropped call. It's a great phone, but has worthless internet. I mean TERRIBLE internet, it's slower than dial up. I hardly use it, but still pay the $30 a month in case I need it. The web browser interface is lame too. Wish I could just stick a google screen on there and not have to look at all that Verizon and/or bing junk!
Music player is good. I don't really understand the play options below the song listing though. Oh well, I have an MP3 player for that.
The menu is kind of lame. There are things I access often that seem to be buried under layers of menu. Like, The Media Center has pics and music (among other things I don't use), but I wish I could access the pics quickly. I wish I could get rid of the factory pics too! I use the calculator often but wish it was a one click thing. Also the Calendar appointment setting thing is weird. The time scroller ("Price is Right" style) is just plain goofy and it's easy to set the wrong time for an alarm clock too. Yikes!
The phone seems to be of great quality, and I really like it. But I don't find it as useful as I wanted it to be. I got it free with a 2 year contract and would have been mad to pay money for it. I like the smooth, rich touch screen and the viewer is bright and vibrant. I like the proprioception thing where it flips screen orientation depending on how you're holding the phone. I also like the "boing" touch/feely response when touching the screen. Makes it more interactive. I love that the keyboard is back lighted. I don't love how the screen locks automatically after only a few seconds when not in use, but maybe that's a feature I don't know that I can change.

Pros: Just about everything
Cons: Sometimes the touch screen will want to freeze up while using internet, but then 2 seconds later it works, The phone will shut off if you type to fast on internet. QWERTY Keypad is small.

Summary: I don't have to many complaints. I really do like this phone. I have seen people complain about this phone the same way people complain bout the ENV Touch. I think it all just depends on how you treat your phone. I've never had bad luck with phone except my first one but it was a Sanyo and Sanyo sucks anyways, and then I had a cheap lil flip phone from Alltel and it broke in two in just a few months. Other than that I haven't had any bad luck with phone. I am about to trade off with a friend, she's getting my reality and I'm getting her Touch ENV. I will only use it for a few months as I will be upgrading in December to an Android. OVERALL I would recommend this phone but you just have to treat it like a child.
Very good with a few annoying quirks

Summary: I bought this phone about 3 months ago, after my beloved LG Dare died. I had decided that i wanted a touch screen + keyboard and not pay for an unlimited data plan.
So far, I like pretty much everything. The keyboard was easy to get used to (Even with the odd placement of the "." key) Touch screen is pretty responsive and screen has good color.
I love the fact that i can change the brightness of the screen, which is not something i have been able to do on previous phones. I also like the fact i can change the "style" of vibrate for the phone, such as 1 long one to 2 short ect... but don't understand why they did not offer this feature for text messages as well? Rather annoying.
My biggest gripe is that if you have images on a micro SD and set them as your wallpaper, sometimes within an hour, it will change it back to default, which is VERY annoying... hopefully will come a fix soon for that.
Other than that, it has 3 home screens which at first was a huge selling point, but i never use them and ended up setting them the same. The phone vibrates rather hard, so don't have to worry about not feeling a call.
The web browser seems to be a industry standard for this style of phone, and unless it is for minor email checking/facebook use, its not so great... i can't imagine needing over 50mb of internet a month...
So far, i like this phone very much, especially for texting! Not as much as my Dare, but i also haven't had this one as long. I would reccomend it to anyone who texts and who doesn't mind a few annoying habits.
Hate, actually LOATHE this pone
by shelleea71 on March 6, 2011
Pros: It is small and the volume is really loud.
Cons: The qwerty keyboard is screwy because the space bar now splits the bottom row - I still haven't been able to get used to it. Turns itself on and off - only had it three months! Touch screen 'keys' or anything else you try to do is too small to use.

Summary: I really, really wish that I had chosen to stay with the Envy series (had 1 and 2 - loved that phone) but I was too cheap to spend the extra every month for an additional data package. (Still have to have one, but it's have the cost.)
This would have to rank up there with one of the worst phones I have ever made. Now I need to wait almost two years until I can afford a new phone again.
Worst Phone Ever!!!

Pros: Nice Keypad
Cons: Phone freezes, Randomly calls contacts on its own, touch screen not very sensitive, phone cuts on and off on its own for no reason
Summary: Overall, just a horrible phone. I do not recommend this phone at all!!!

Pros: loud speakers , sleek, great keyboard, liked the texting format, loved the widgets and 3 screens, and most of all the battery life! the battery life lasted me a whole week with regular usage; i charged it mondays.
Cons: the lock screen could easily unlock in your pocket. when it did, it went to your contacts and the people on the top were dialed.

I like my phone
by vstefans on February 20, 2011
Pros: Reliable, holds charge well for me, attractive slim design. Realy like the voiced call announcing feature.
Cons: Touch screen occasionlly seems finicky, and I wish I had not lost my manual - to me it's not quite intuitive - probably just me. I may never be any good at typing on an itty bitty keyboard either, though the slide-out one on here is better than most.

Summary: This is a replacement for a very old model LG that finally wore out and broke, and my first semi-smart touch screen phone. It may not have all the cachet or the apps of an I-Phone, but it was less expensive, and the reliability and functionality is what I need for for my worrk situation. I can surf, dial, take photos, and use the features I need.
I would not recommend this phone
by ddantzler on February 13, 2011
Pros: to anyone.
Cons: Phone dials on its own, home screen changes at will, and slide lock screen is very hard to unlock. The battery does not keep a charge even when not in use.
WORST PHONE I'VE EVER HAD OR ENCOUNTERED, KAFKA-ESQUE
by Jonheston on January 27, 2011
Pros: It fits in your pocket?
Keyboard is decent
Cons: Spontaneously unlocks and calls pocket dials
Makes noise even when it is set to silent (especially when battery is low). If i'm in a lecture or theater I have to pop the battery out to get it quiet.
Short battery life
Turns on and off when i sit.

Summary: DO NOT GET THIS PHONE!!! This review serves two purposes for me: 1) to warn everyone that they absolutely must not buy this phone. 2) to vent my frustation with this phone now that I am free of it.
This phone will pocket dial people literally everyday (you're not the only one suffering from this awful phone). Its battery will die frequently, although you might not get to the point of it dying because once it is low on batteries it will make so much noise that you'll pop the battery out. Shutting it off doesn't even work because it spontaneously comes on and makes noise unless you remove the battery. It also gets turned on and off incessantly as I sit, crouch, or make any movement that may slightly tighten my pockets. As a mentioned it also makes tons of noises even when its on silent. I'll frequently have my phone start making some weird noise and rush to put it on silent only to find that it already is silent. Its absurd.
One of its few positives is that it has internet, but it so unusable that you're better off just calling someone who is near a computer. Its honestly hard to think of anything else that is even remotely positive about this phone.
I had this phone for a few months before deciding it was so bad that it absolutely had to be replaced. I've never done this with any phone. I always wait until the contract runs out. After I got my new phone I smashed the samsung reality into little pieces with hammer (again, a first for me).
If I had to chose one word that summarize my experience with this phone it would be this: Kafka-esque
