Adult Virgin Mobile customers - this is your cell phone
by Alvin English on July 26, 2008
Pros: Good incoming and outgoing voice quality (via SPRINT network). Bluetooth works very well. It looks good, you won't be ashamed to pull this phone out of your pocket or purse. The slider feels good to the touch - real quality of design and build.
Cons: I could knock it for not having more features, but then it would cost more. The quality of the camera is poor - just look at the specs. I don't like the flimsy plastic piece that covers the charging port.
Summary: This cell phone is made exclusively for Virgin Mobile (VM). Virgin Mobile is known for two things: very good cell phone service and trashy hardware (excuse me - plastic ware). ...
Summary: This cell phone is made exclusively for Virgin Mobile (VM). Virgin Mobile is known for two things: very good cell phone service and trashy hardware (excuse me - plastic ware).
This is the only VM cell phone that I would recommend to adults. It is basic phone that is well designed. You will like the feel of this phone when it slides open.
I paired this phone with the Aliph Jawbone 2 Bluetooth Headset - it works flawlessly.
Bottomline: If you are a VM customer, this is easily the highest quality phone in their line-up.
Thank you Virgin Mobile for FINNALY giving us a decent cell phone.5 out of 5 users found this user opinion helpful.

Samsung always made good products

Pros: Battery life, Reception, Ease of use, Solid features.
Cons: Not much third party accessories, the picture quality is not promising.

Summary: VM has made slider phones before from Kyocera, it just seems as though this slider is a breakthough. Why you ask, well it is simple; yes Kyocera was VM first slider phone to be released donkey years ago but not entirely successful as Samsung Slash. But I have to admit I was a tad bit close to owning a Kyocera Slider Sonic in the past, bit I am certainly happy I own this Slash this time.
I have indeed own a capable bluetooth from General Electric that I have paired with my samsung that works brilliantly, and sadly the con above mentioned that the picture quality is not that great; I have seen cheaper camera phones with great quality that the Slash. But you also got to mention that this is not the most powerful slider phone available through VM currently, you save about 10 dollars more and you can happly own a UTStarcom Shuttle with 3G Speed.
On the hole, the Samsung Slash doesn't hold back in power wise, it's a good multimedia phone for internet uses, it makes great calls, and you will not be let down with the money you spend on this phone.2 out of 2 users found this user opinion helpful.

by aintawerd02 on September 10, 2008
Pros: Loud Speaker, Bright screen,
Cons: Battery charge could be a little bit better, but i have to admit it's better than all the previous phones I've owned. I've gone about 3 days without needing a charge on it.

Summary: I really like this phone. It's reliable and fast, and great for both calling and texting. I've read many complaints that "the buttons are cramped" and that "the battery gets very hot" but I've never experienced problems with either of these things. The texting dictionary is great and very easy to use. I am mainly a texter and this phone is quite satisfactory in that aspect. It has never failed to deliver a text, nor has there been any delay in the delivery of texts. I've also read that the camera is bad on this phone, but if you just hold it very still the pictures can look pretty great for a VGA camera. I also noticed how good the sound quality is on this phone while talking.
Generally, I recommend this phone. It's nothing too fancy and it doesn't have a lot of extra stuff on it, but it works very well and has excellent performance on the basics. If you are interested in having a reliable, good looking, easy to use phone, this is the phone for you. -
It does a very good job at what it brings to the table.
by arrow24 on July 22, 2009
Pros: Easy navigation, nice messaging features, bluetooth, excellent call quality, handy little set of tools included, web browser is fairly fast even though it's only EDGE speed, phone is very durable and the quality feels sturdy + it has a design I like.
Cons: Not that great of a camera, keys a little cramped, screen is small and not that good of a resolution, battery life was OK, can't browse the web when phone slider is closed.
Summary: This was my first phone I have bought, and I still love to use it. Even though I found a couple problems with this slider, I still think it is ...
Summary: This was my first phone I have bought, and I still love to use it. Even though I found a couple problems with this slider, I still think it is a very solid choice and possibly the best quality phone you can get from Virgin Mobile.
Addressing the main features:
Camera: I didn't expect much from the VGA camera. The camera itself took OK pictures though in not-so-great lighting conditions if was almost unusable. One thing that I liked was I could set a picture I had taken as a wallpaper.
Messaging: This phone brings some good messaging features to the table. I liked how there was not only text and MMS, but instant messengers (AIM and ICQ in this case) and a basic email client was included.
Calling: Call quality was really good, voices sounded very natural to me. A speakerphone was a great addition as well.
Voice dialing: This was very surprising to me. Such a basic phone as this had voice dialing and the integration was well done to recognize my voice.
Web browsing:Of course, this phone wasn't built to be a a phone for browsing the web. But it does include one nevertheless, and I really liked how I could check my Virgin account directly from my phone at fairly fast speeds. The web browsing experience was very good for a basic phone in my opinion. -
