The good: The Samsung Trender has a familiar slide-out design and an interface that's easy to get around.
The bad: The Trender has a flat keyboard, the camera took dull photos, and it's saddled by slower 3G.
The bottom line: If you're trying to avoid a data plan, the Samsung Trender is one affordable messaging option, though one of Sprint's budget Android phones could prove a better value.

Pocket Dial Nightmare
Pros: The speaker phone is the main reason I liked this phone. It's very clear and load enough for a construction site.
Cons: I pocket dial everyone in the universe with this thing. I put on the lock and now I just pocket dial 911 instead.

Nice alternative to smart phone.

Pros: Nice phone if someone does not want the smart phone that comes with expensive data plan. I love that it has driving mode for driving (provides louder rings and volume and simplier interface).
Cons: Cannot get my wife to use it (she is comming from the flip phone). But this is just touch screen in general nothing against this phone. I wish they would include more accessories (no headset or usb cable). The pictures from the carmera is plain (resolu

Horrible phone, replace immediately

Pros: Light weight, cordy keyboard use to work ok, buttons are rather unresponsive and require quite a bit of force to be applied for it to be register your entry.
Cons: Pocket dials 911 all the time. I had 8 voice mails from 911 telling me to stop calling them because there are actual emergencies that need to be attended to. Surprised I wasnt subpoenaed or police didnt show up to my house for causing such an issue.
Summary: Horrible phone, replace immediately, or don't even buy to begin with.

Pros: It's best when it is turned off.
Cons: Hard to call. Hard to hang up. Takes four clicks to hang up. Pocket dials easily. I have two contacts that have mysteriously disappeared from any history or reply-to. This phone actually raises my blood pressure.

Pros: there arent any
Cons: This phone is a piece of crap. Ive had it for about 4 months and it turns off when I slide it and put it down. The camera has terrible resoulution. The contact list mixes up your contacts. It pocket dials all the time even when it is locked.

Pros: pppbbbtttt
Cons: Pocket dials like mad. Software glitches with texting (mislables conversations, won't delete certain messages). Internet images suck. Total junk.
Summary: Yeah it's practically free... but it doesn't even work well as a base model phone. SO many design flaws.

Pros: Touch screen functionality at a low price. If it wasn't for the reliability concerns, if all you do is voice and text, this phone would probably be ok.
Cons: I actually have a Samsung Seek which looks like this phone (it might be a predecessor to the Trender). If you have more than a few MP3s, this phone messes up the Album and Artist categories. MP3 player does not remember your place in the song / podcast

Summary: I got this phone for free after being a loyal customer of sprint for two years. Going to the store, I had to pick between some android and this. Being my first real touchscreen, I went with this (plus the lack of additional charges per month is nice). At first, I had litle direction what to do with it. The contacts are rediculous to find, and I don't think here's any way to actually turn it off.
After a week of using it, I got this:
- TThe reply button goes to practically random people. This is a very large mistake that is plain unacceptable.
- My messages decided to lock themselves, and delete all of my current, and in-coming receive messages. There is no way to fix this. I can no longer read old texts.
- It tends to call random people, and after they hang up, redial them over and over, following this pattern until I ruin their day.
- There's no voice recorder or video device. As a musician, I tend to record things via phone for easy access later. I'm unable to do so.
DO NOT get this phone. It's nice at first, but will **** on you when you need it most.
