best kyocera virgin phone yet!!
by vincent marcellino on August 27, 2008
Pros: yup 20 bucks buys the best cellularTELEPHONE!!-virgin has to offer-no frills but it does the basics best- calls and texts-need more??-spend more-finally a winner that lets me lose my oystr-will not miss it-thanks virgin/kyocera:)
Cons: i'm looking for a few-will get back to you when i find them-

Updated on Aug 28, 2008Summary: light smart looking and easy to use-- a great TELEPHONE!-which is what it's supposed to be
did find some"cons"--the keypad tones are so soft as to be non existent--dunno if it's the handset itself or a generic problem-and my speakerphone is not very loud at all-not nearly loud enough to warrant its use-
Updated on Aug 28, 2008
on the pro side again-the alarm is plenty loud and will wake me up-and after a couple of days use i am still amazed at the call quality from this little handset-!
Updated on Sep 26, 2008okay a month down the road and the tnt is a fine fone:)--gotta say i switch to the oystr for a deeper earpiece sound-when i tire of the tnt treble tone but the tnt has a clear and strong sound nonetheless-just my own picky thing:)-but the texting coukldn't be better-easy and quick-still an amazing value for the money--hoooahh!
Updated on Jun 6, 2009okay--been waiting for the perfect phone-huh!-not yet!-bought and brought back the x tc-got a jax-great little phone--but voice quality is dicey-so back to the oystr--so slow after the jax-so now i am using my old t n t--still most easy texting and better call quality than the jax-ringtones so soft though they can hardly be heard in the street
so at day's end-one year later -the tnt wins the cheapest good phone all brooklyn award!:)-still the best damned $20($15 at best buy) phone around--2 out of 2 users found this user opinion helpful.

Good Low-Cost Spartan Phone
by AdelheidBernstein on March 26, 2009
Pros: Decent-to-good quality handset, for a very low price. Interface and features are reasonably-well designed. Sound quality is very good, compared to other Virgin Mobile and Helio phones. Screens are adequate. USB Micro charge is nice.
Cons: Very few bells and whistles. This is a pro for me, but a con for people who want a toy instead of a phone.
Summary: This is an exceptional phone for pragmatic users, who don't require a camera, bluetooth, web browsing, videos, music, or an overinflated object that "defines their personality." Having used other ...
Summary: This is an exceptional phone for pragmatic users, who don't require a camera, bluetooth, web browsing, videos, music, or an overinflated object that "defines their personality." Having used other Virgin Mobile and Helio phones, this is one of my more-favorite units. Solidly built, easy to use, decent battery life, and has many of the most-important features like contact list, calendar, alarm clock, timer, calculator, etc. MicroUSB charging is very convenient, instead of relying on proprietary chargers. VM service is also a very good deal, for anyone who needs basic service and doesn't talk or text more than a few times a week. I pay approx $6.67 a month for service, and I get great coverage in my respective region. Makes a good backup phone, or emergency phone (even without service, most modern working handsets can still dial 911). So cheap, it's practically disposable. If you're looking for a status symbol or a toy, this isn't your phone. If you want a simple and effective mobile phone, and are within their coverage area, it's a good buy.

Summary: all this phone needs is a camera and bluetooth and it would have been a perfect 10...im not the person to take many pictures but i receive a lot of pics and im not sure if this one will receive pics but we'll see...i was a big fan of the oystr but this phone is a huge improvement...my previous phone was the arc which i am still plannin to use because of the camera, but the call quality in my opinion is excellent its a lil better than the arc...and so is reception, but unlike the marbl and the oystr this phone dont lag or freeze and i can actually text on this phone without it freezin, and they finally added a external display which is nice...the internal antenna is on the lower part of the back of the phone so if you live in a low service area it may go to searchin if you put your hand over it, but it is a very good phone...and the price is right, and if you want just a basic phone then this phone is for you, i def recommend it, check it out

Could be better.
by bettylynn on December 4, 2009
Pros: Cheap.. Nice flip phone.. soft keypad makes it easy to text and is quiet. Good calling.
Cons: Everytime a new text comes in while you are typing.. it kicks you out of that text you are typing. (No 'view now' 'view later' choice or anything like that.) Also, you can't close the phone while a text is sending.
Summary: For calling, this phone is not the best. Texting, even worse. Multimedia things, not much better. But if you need something simple just to make a few calls, this is ...

Qualcomm Junk!
by kandairvine on October 18, 2009
Pros: Ringer loud. Great feel. Compact.
Cons: Battery life sucks. Phone was on for 12 hours, 3 days in a row. By the 3rd day, the battery was dead. On a full charge!
Summary: I would not recomend this phone for any price.

Summary: Had this phone for a year now. People can clearly hear me, and I can clearly hear them. Has good range, lasts 5 days per charge on stand by, and has more features and works as good as my land line phone. It does all this for a puchase price of $20 and 20 cents a minute. If you use a phone AS a phone the TNT is the best deal out there.

Good if you only want to talk
by nobrand90 on September 13, 2009
Pros: -Decent call quality
-Nice rubbery surfaceCons: -Slippery keys
-Tiny exterior display
-Poorly designed flip mechanism
-Quiet, quiet ringer volume

Summary: I bought this phone in a pinch, and found the word pinch was good to describe it... but I'll cover that below. I used this phone for two weeks and here is why: The exterior display malfunctioned and stopped working. If this didn't happen, I might have continued use for a while longer. But, it had some other annoyances that would have ultimately led to a new phone purchase.
As for the pinch? You have to close this phone in a certain way to avoid being pinched by the hinge. It was a bit annoying. But it had a nice snap shut sound to it.
As for the display, you can't see pictures sent to you very well. They look like a little blob on the tiny screen. Why they even included a camera.. I have no idea.
As for the ringer volume, it's so low. You can easily sleep through any alarm clock you set as well. Keep this in mind! You will miss calls and important messages as well.
Here's my bottom line: Perhaps the exterior screen malfunction meant I had a lemon. I'm fine with that, electronics break. But I wasn't driven to get another TNT due to other lacking features of the phone. In my honest opinion.. if you are looking for a cheap phone this one works fine. BUT, there are other better phones that come at the same price. Shop around because you have more options than you think. It does everything it says, maybe not as well as others. But I strongly recommend you consider another phone due to the quiet ringer on this one. -
Its a good phone but it could have been better.
by hernandez10 on August 4, 2009
Pros: Its small. The design is very nice. The speaker is nice and loud. The keys are very nice.
Cons: The external display is too small. Also the Internal display could have been bigger. The battery runs out quickly when using the web. It turns off sometimes. No Camera.
Summary: I would say this phone is for someone who uses it for basic stuff like talking and texting not for the web.

Best VM phone I've owned so far
by jones28s on June 21, 2009
Pros: Excellent sound quality. Nice design. Great basic phone.
Cons: Front display went bad after 4 months. Switches to vibrate without you realizing.

Summary: I bought this phone 5 months ago after having a Marbl for a few years. I bought it because of the external display, so I wouldn't have to flip the phone open everytime a call came in (like you have to do with the Marbl). Even with the bright red backlight display, everything is really easy to read, and I like the contacts listing format.
Needless to say, I was extremely impressed with the phone for use as just a basic phone. That is until the front display went buggy on me. That is why I purchased this phone in the first place. OH WELL. I guess I'll just have to deal with it now, or go splurge ($15) for a new one.
Overall, a very decent phone though. No other complaints at all. -
Cheap basic phone. Good for starters.Don't expect much.

Summary: The software is the worst part. You have to open menus and press keys on the phone's speed and sometimes after reading a message it still beeps. Basically the software is really bad, I wish they had an update or something.
The rest is great. I always loved this phone because it's light and small with a nice design.
After 4 months my speaker broke so I can't make phone calls. Make sure you keep your receipt.
