ZTE Chorus (Cricket Wireless) price range: $99.99

The good: With Muve Music, the ZTE Chorus has great sound quality both through the headphone jack and the output speakers. It also makes decent calls.
The bad: The Chorus' resistant touch screen is hair-pullingly frustrating. The UI of Muve Music is cumbersome, and the phone is a little bulky.
The bottom line: If you have no interest in smartphones but want an audio player with unlimited song downloads, the budget-friendly Chorus delivers great song and call quality, but its display is extremely unresponsive.

Filled with glitches, freezes while sending MMS.
by dafinsfan on February 29, 2012
Pros: Cell coverage provided by Sprint network, not bad as a phone.
Cons: Cricket sales person sold it as a droid, this thing is nothing like a droid phone. Battery life is horrible. Music selection is terrible unless you like to listen to the same crap they play on the radio. Not a good buy.
Summary: Look for other options, service plan is $45 for 1000 minutes, by the time taxes are added you're paying $50.00, not such a great deal. Phone is not ...
Summary: Look for other options, service plan is $45 for 1000 minutes, by the time taxes are added you're paying $50.00, not such a great deal. Phone is not worth this mandatory plan, this phone should be considered a regular phone and this plan should not be more than $35 to $40 a month.

Good phone with attractive features
by CrismaMont on January 24, 2013
Pros: This phone has a built-in music library courtesy of Cricket's MuveMusic software. This phone isn't bad if you're on a tight budget and primarily want to listen to music.
Cons: It has poor touchscreen and the battery life is poor.

Literally the worst phone I have ever owned.

Summary: Oh. my. God. Where to start? This phone is absolutely awful. First things first, the battery life is terrible. Even when your not using it, it's dieing fast. This phone doesn't have a stand-by time of a couple days, it has a stand-by time of a few hours. If your going to make a call and plan to talk for a while, you better hope you have your charger with you. I have had to bring my charger around with me where ever I go for this stupid phone. For instance, I took my phone off the charger around 2pm today, and it was dead by 10. I didn't even make an calls.
Also, internet is terrible. I am always getting kicked off of whatever web page i am on. I will have to keep getting on the web and going back to the website I was on, only to get kicked off again! its so frustrating! It will never let me stay on the internet for long. After a couple minutes, it's pretty much like "its been long enough, im going to close the internet now". Half the time the internet didnt even work. I had to call the freaking 800 number to get it fixed. This phone doesnt support Muve Music anymore, so save your money. There is a "music player" on here where you can save songs to i guess, but when i tried that, the phone decided to constantly keep deleting my songs after a while. the phone sends out like 5-10 duplicate texts, and it pisses my friends off. if you want to send a long text (that would normally be send as a multimedia message), it wont let you, you have to manually split the text up yourself, and send it in chunks. lots of time, the texting wont send so you have to continuously edit and re-send. Same goes with sending pics. The pic quality is not that great, and if you plan on taking a picture of something outside where it's bright, or at night, forget it. There is a place where you can control the brightness settings (thats pretty much how I get my phone to LAST for more than 5 hours is by keeping it on the lowest brightness setting) but if you keep it on the lowest brightness setting, it is actually literally impossible to see anything on your screen when you are outside during the day.
This phone turns itself off by itself on me more than once a day. Just randomly out of nowhere, it will turn itself off. Its incredibly aggravating.
The touch screen is bad, it's pretty unresponsive, and texting is tough because the letters are small and too close and you think your touching one letter and you get a completely differnt one. so you gotta go slow and press with the tips of your fingers. if you try to scroll up on your texts, it will continuously glitch on you and keep taking you back to the bottom. You will have to do this a few times if you want to read a text above.
Every single time I added something to the phone, like a ringtone, it would stay for a while, and then one day, i would get a call, and it would be the default ringer (which i never authorized), and ill go check and my downloaded ringtone will be gone.
Calls get dropped a lot. the texting prediction text will not let you add words (like if you want to add cuss words, or your own way of spelling something, or names, or anything really).
Oh, and the last thing I can think of. It freezes. a lot.
this was my first "smart-phone" and it will be my last. I called the 800 number and told them all of these problems, and you know what they told me? They told me maybe I should just go buy another phone! Maybe YA'll should reimburse ME!
Cricket lost my trust with this phone. Never again. -
This unit is an expensive MP3 player.
by irisheyes1959 on July 21, 2012
Pros: None that I can see at this point.
Cons: The purpose of a phone is to make and RECEIVE calls. If phone is idle it turns off and all calls go into voice mail. The phone does not turn back or wakes itself back up when a call comes in.
Summary: Look else where if you are interested in an actual phone! You literally have to babysit this phone to use it as a PHONE in receiving calls. it is a ...

Good idea, but totally unusable phone and service.
by 5345637457845673 on June 2, 2012
Pros: Music feature seemed like a cool idea...
Cons: Battery never lasted more than 3 hours. I would need to keep plugged in constantly to use-it stayed hot all the time. Cricket was unresponsive to the problems with this phone & service, they even hid their 800 number once you sign in to your account.
Summary: Would never use nor recommend ZTE and Cricket after this experience. I feel ripped off for the short time I was with them. It's a real shame the system ...
Summary: Would never use nor recommend ZTE and Cricket after this experience. I feel ripped off for the short time I was with them. It's a real shame the system never worked. The music system SEEMED like a cool idea as an alternative to Pandora streaming, but never worked correctly. Cricket was a nightmare for me to deal with. I'm not sure what their business plan is, but always felt like they were hiding from an inferior phone and service.

It has a touchscreen, and includes some awesome apps. It supports Muve music, that is offered by Cricket. It offers stereo bluetooth, 3.5mm headphone jack (halleujah finally!) full web browser, and evdo speeds. i think crickets best, and the UI AND DESIGN looks as if your using a bloatware droid. It is amazing. Get it get it get it. -
It is Android, believe it or not!

Summary: People keep saying that this is not Android, but those people are misinformed. It is Android. But it does not come with the Android Market that most Android phones come with. So how do you install apps? You download them with your computer and place them on the card. The files are in .APK format. Then you go into the phone's file manager and install the applications.
But I know, most people would rather go through Android Market. Maybe I'm an old school computer user but I'm ok with a little extra work.
Besides, there was a time when a phone was just a phone...0 out of 1 users found this user opinion helpful.

Great phone!
by sgarcia812 on March 2, 2012
Pros: I almost always have bars & am not stuck running out of a building 2 take a call. The muvemusic is wonderful thing 2 have when working out or just want 2 listen 2 music. It will let you know you have a call during music play so you don't miss one.
Cons: I have marked this down one star because I can't download any apps. I am having to bring my phone to a cricket store to be fixed.
Summary: I love my phone and I would highly recommend it to friends or family. This phone isn't "bulky" and the song selection is great. There is one thing I ...
