ZTE Salute (Verizon Wireless) price range: $104.99

The good: Verizon's voice commands and optional VZ Navigator spruce up the ZTE Salute's features lineup, and its slider design, visual details, and budget price earn it bonus points.
The bad: A dull Menu screen and bare-bones tools will disappoint customers in search of a midrange device.
The bottom line: Those looking for an entry-level phone at a rock-bottom price should consider the ZTE Salute.

Very Good Basic Phone w/camera and GPS
by Cbasics on October 7, 2011
Pros: This is a great phone for the basic user. It's easy to use and I like the slide. It's very user friendly and easy to find the tools to change things like sound. It also locks automatically when you close the phone and gives you promps so you know how to u
Cons: If you're looking for a phone with touch screen or keypad, and looking for more than the basics you probably would not be happy with this phone.

Summary: This is a great phone for the money and has everything I need. It's easy to use, not too large, and I haven't had any problems with it. I'm very happy - since I'm only looking for something that I can make calls, text, sometimes take advantage of the GPS, take a picture or check my email.

by JRRutherford on October 5, 2011
Pros: Looks Ok screen slips up and dowm and cuts off conversations.
Cons: Poor sound - echos - I'm having Verizon replace both phones I just got 3 week ago! It's going to be a long two years!

Terrible phone, I would not refer this phone to anyone
by Nathe90 on September 14, 2011
Pros: Great batter life, I never had a problem with that, my battery lasted three days. easy to use key navigation, Great customizations for the themes. okay volume, i love how the phone is semi metal on the front part.
Cons: Crap Volume, Terrible place for volume buttons, Buttons to close together, Crap texting, terrible place for mic, the phone has a terrible glitch when texting, when I would text it would make it out as though it sent but it pended the messages then sent th

Summary: If your look for a temp phone that you are only going to be using for a weeks time this would work, it is simple but only good for short term use, I love the design it definitely has major flaws, this phone should be recalled and worked on majorly I will not recommend this phone to anyone what so ever. It has major textin issues and the only good thing about this phone is how well the battery can last other then that do not get it.

Cute phone but works really poorly - not worth it
by amflanagan1 on October 13, 2010
Pros: Cute phone - looks like a touch screen but it isn't. Has some cute ringtones - that's about it.
Cons: I send text messages that remain on my screen. They -appear to not be sent - screen freezes. When I call a phone number where I have to enter in numbers into an automated system ("press 1 for yes, 2 for no), my phone does not send a sound.
Summary: Other issues - The screen locks itself even though I set it not to lock. The reception is bad. I lose calls often.
Bottom line - new phone to verizon ...Summary: Other issues - The screen locks itself even though I set it not to lock. The reception is bad. I lose calls often.
Bottom line - new phone to verizon that is useless. Do not buy it - not enough customer reviews yet to confirm for all those new buyers who think it looks cute. It's not worth it at all. Buy a trusted phone that has good customer reviews that you can rely on to work for you. -
Great, Easy, No Data Plan

Cons: The sound quality isn't great. Picture quality is not great

Summary: I just called my mother to see what the sound was really like because I have only had it one day. It is not so great. It sounds as if there is an echo. I have an integrated bluetooth on my car, so I wil see what that is like. Certainly, most people want phones with data plans, so a simpler phone is also a cheap phone and this is one of them. I want a high quality flip phone that has some fun options. I was going to get the LG Cosmos, but the buttons were so small, I knew it would drive me crazy. Oh well, at least for the next two years, I will not have to pay for data!
