Sony HDR-CX520V Reviewed on February 24, 2010 Check prices
Product overview
Sony HDR-CX520V
  • CNET Editor rating:
    3.5 stars Very good
      Overall score: 7.6 (3.5 stars)
  • Average user rating: 4.5 stars out of 2 reviews

The Bottom Line: The geotagging capability remains mostly a novelty, but the top-notch video quality of the Sony Handycam HDR-CX500V and HDR-CX520V make them worthy options. Because internal memory is overpriced, the HDR-XR500V is the better deal of the two, though you may want to opt for a 2010 model that supports SD cards rather than Sony's Memory Stick. Read review

  • CNET Editor rating:
    3.5 stars Very good
      Overall score: 7.5 (3.5 stars)
  • Average user rating: 3.5 stars out of 10 reviews

The Bottom Line: At its best, the Canon Vixia HF M3x series--composed of the M300, M30, M31, and M32--delivers a very good blend of video quality, features, and performance for the money, but some people may find the touch-screen interface extremely frustrating to use and the battery life painfully short. Plus, you really need to bump up to the highest bit rate quality. Of the series, the HF M300 is the best deal. Read review
