- While it's neither a must-have upgrade for existing 360 owners nor as feature-packed as the PS3, the Xbox 360 Elite's combination of top-notch gaming and digital media features make it the current game console of choice.

Microsoft Xbox 360 Elite (120GB) price range: $200.00
- Reviewed by: John Falcone

- Released on: 04/29/2007
The good: Excellent selection of games, including many 360-only exclusives; all games are in native high-definition; user-friendly Dashboard interface; supports wireless controllers and accessories; Xbox Live service offers online multiplayer (with matchmaking and voice chat) and content downloads for most games; backward compatible with many--but not all--original Xbox titles; doubles as a superior digital media hub and Windows Media extender; online Marketplace allows easy purchases of minigames, add-on gaming content, high-def movies, and TV shows.
The bad: The Elite fails to correct most of the annoyances of the original 360 version: the noisy DVD drive and cooling fan; a gigantic, oversize power supply; no built-in wireless networking; only three USB ports; a substandard DVD player; online gaming requires a paid subscription to Xbox Live; proprietary wireless format limits third-party accessories.
The bottom line: While it's neither a must-have upgrade for existing 360 owners nor as feature-packed as the PS3, the Xbox 360 Elite's combination of top-notch gaming and digital media features make it the current game console of choice.

Can Microsoft Ever Invent, or just copy

Summary: Wow, what a way to go. I seem to remeber Microsoft Saying the an HDMI cable wasn't needed, and that a 20 Gig hard Drive would be ample for all of our gaming needs. Not to mention that HD-DVD wasn't necessary. Give it time and soon enough an X-Box with ALL of the same features as the PS3 will rear it's ugly head. I hat X-Box's, my first one wouldn't read discs right out of the box, brand new, and my 360 had the same problem a month down the road. ON the other hand I still have my very first PS2 (Stood in line at Wal-Mart for 2 days) and it is still kicking ass!! Not to mention my new PS3 runs like a champ, and I don't have to worry about the disc tray getting stuck and not opening, like on my buddie's 360. He said "Just rub it a little and it will pop open" I don't wanna rub anything except my shiny, new, kick -ass PS3! Thank you very much

Summary: i dont really like the xbox 360 i played it a couple of times but after a while it got boreing the hard drive is big but is it to big? i was playing online a couple of times and it said a couple of times that i lost connecitivity it came back some times but not all the time. the consol is very noisy it sounds louder than my computer and the controller is like a brick. i saw the elite on a hdtv and it did not look to good compared to the ps3. you cant evan update the hard drive to bigger that 120 gb and the head set is not good it would be better if it was smaller and it is some times hard to make out who is talking to you. the power brick is just annoying why not put it inside the consol it would just make the consol a bit bigger.

Nothing New

Pros: You get a large 120 GB hard drive, black console controller and headset, and HDMI port for only $80 more.
Cons: Everything other than the three new features are the same.

Summary: This console came out way too early, only a year after the Xbox 360 came out. It looks great and has a few good new features for only $480. Other than that, nothing new. The PlayStation 3 can still get a 200 GB hard drive or even more and it also has HDMI. Extremely pointless for those who already have Xbox 360s.
