The good: Sleeker design; 17 percent smaller; much quieter operation; better cooling; touch-sensitive power and disc tray; 250GB hard drive; built-in Wi-Fi; five USB ports; dedicated Kinect port; onboard optical digital audio.
The bad: The hard drive is still proprietary; controller on D-pad remains unchanged; cumbersome power block; renders existing faceplates useless; no cables for HD gaming out of the box.
The bottom line: Though the new Xbox 360 certainly addresses most of the concerns we've had with the versions before it, we don't think it warrants a purchase if you already own an Xbox 360 in working order with an HDMI-out port and a hard drive.

Cons: paying for online service could be a pain but its definately worth it!

Summary: I bought my system for the ease of use it is able to stream videos from my computer and/or attached hard drive. At one time the os was slow but played my videos. then a patch came out and made the os so slow when using the streaming video capabilities that i thought it had crashed. Finally i read up on how to format and use an external hard drive to play videos connected to the 360. this worked quite well for a while. then a patch came out it's now not as slow for streaming (it does get choppy about every 10 min), but does not recognize my external hard drive anymore for playing videos. I love microsoft... after searching forums i'm always able to find many people saying, "it's a great system, but it's made by microsoft you have to know it's buggy." I'm not sure what to believe i have since just boxed it up and put it away. I couldn't give it away to my friends. many of them have their own xbox 360 and are not pleased with it. one friend had wii, ps3, and xbox360. he now only has a ps3 and told me i should have listened to him.

Pros: its got onboard wi-fi,great games alot of space to save games videos music movies and the online is amazing as well. i love the huge game & music marketplace (heck im switching over to zune bit by bit)

Good console especially when teamed up with Kinect

I'd like to address the issue of scratched discs here. If your Xbox 360 flops over and scratches your disc, it's not the end of the world. If you burned that game onto your hard drive before it got scratched then it will not affect game play (however it will affect trade ins). It will only use the disc to start the game.
My old xbox 360's disk drive broke after 2 years of loyal service. It broke around the time the xbox 360 slim was released so the timing was perfect to get it. It has worked beautifully. Not once in the past 6 or so months has it failed to work as expected. people gripe about the lack of blu ray when it would make absolutely no sense to have one. All Xbox 360 game discs are DVD, and it provides HD movies through the marketplace. Blu Ray will be obsolete soon with digital downloading and streaming. With a 250 gb HDD you probably don't need to complain about it being proprietary. There is no way I will ever fill up the entire HDD, I don't have enough games and I don't load music or video on my Xbox, my 60 gb HDD was enough for me. At the moment I am using the Last.fm application on my xbox with the kinect. Also not allowing 3rd party HDD helps with quality control. I already had an HDMI cable so the fact that it came with SD didn't phase me at all. I don't even know where that cord went, nor do I care.
Xbox 360 was due for a facelift after 5 years. It was done tastefully and looks beautiful next to my hdtv and kinect. Must go play Kinectimals now :31 out of 1 users found this user opinion helpful.

Overall a great upgrade

Pros: The console is nearly silent when running, comes with a 250GB hard drive, touch sensor buttons are a neat addition, built-in wireless, much smaller, and has more vents for cooling. The hard drive is protected instead of sitting on top of the console.

Pros: (Got the system free by going here http://www.instructables.com/id/How-to-get-anything-for-free/) built in wifi,nice smooth design,quieter.
Cons: No HD cable included,nothing all that new except some fixes with the manufactoring,

Pros: I you watch Netflix thru the xbox, it is much quieter and cooler for longer run times. Looks slick with it's piano black case.
Cons: Touch sensitive buttons can be a bit annoying.
