- Bottom Line:
- Though the new Xbox 360 certainly addresses most of the concerns we've had with the versions before it, we don't think it warrants a purchase if you already own an Xbox 360 in working order with an HDMI-out port and a hard drive.

Microsoft Xbox 360 S (250GB) price range: $245.00 - $329.99
- Reviewed by: Jeff Bakalar

The good: Sleeker design; 17 percent smaller; much quieter operation; better cooling; touch-sensitive power and disc tray; 250GB hard drive; built-in Wi-Fi; five USB ports; dedicated Kinect port; onboard optical digital audio.
The bad: The hard drive is still proprietary; controller on D-pad remains unchanged; cumbersome power block; renders existing faceplates useless; no cables for HD gaming out of the box.
The bottom line: Though the new Xbox 360 certainly addresses most of the concerns we've had with the versions before it, we don't think it warrants a purchase if you already own an Xbox 360 in working order with an HDMI-out port and a hard drive.

Summary: I bought my Xbox 360 three years ago and when I bought it I was expecting a gaming console that would not only give me the entertainment I desired but the ability to last me a long time as well. I was not disappointed when I purchased my Xbox, I have been thoroughly entertained by my Xbox. And I can't complain for how long it has lasted me, I am very happy with that.
Although it did receive red eye one time, I was able to send my Xbox in right away and had it back in a week. Red eye is a thing that is bound to happen to most Xbox's at some point so after having it for two years I wasn't surprised when I got red eye. I was overall pleased with the customer service that I received. They were polite to me and had my Xbox back and good as new in no time!
I also used to own a PS3 and I have to say that I really prefer the Xbox 360 over the PS3. The Xbox 360 loads faster, graphics seem to be a little smoother sometimes. In the 250 gb Xbox you now have the built in wifi so there really isn't anything that the PS3 has that is better than the Xbox 360.
I have had some problems with my Xbox scratching some of my recent video games, this has proven to be really annoying. But you just have to be extra careful with your discs and make sure that you don't bump or drop your Xbox while you have a disc in the drive.
This Xbox has proven to be a very good investment for me, it has given me just what I wanted and I am expecting it to keep working for a long time. -
Good system
by StanO360 on December 7, 2012
Pros: Same as before, best controller for gaming, good interface, quieter, more connection options. Works great for Windows Media Center extending.
Cons: Hard drive is proprietary, but really who cares 250gb is a lot and ours is linked to our pc's anyhow.
Summary: Best system on the market, may be not a huge difference between it and the PS3. If you want to share content on your network with Media Center, then XBox ...

Summary: so I had my xbox for about a year and I only bought one since my friends had one. For christmas I got a ps3 and it is so much better than my xbox. I had to return my xbox 2 times because of RRD which was very annoying and it cant do any of the stuff my ps3 can. Blu ray not supported, blue tooth not supported, I have to pay to play online, and the list goes on. Microsoft has some competition now with sony because in my opinion my ps3 is better.

Hardly worth the money.
by Xecutionzero on March 3, 2012
Pros: The system itself is amazingly quiet.
The game library is slightly better than the PS.Cons: PAY for xbox live? PSN anyone?
Power supply is very cheap 30 mins of gameplay and it over heats.
scratches disks EXTREMELY easy.
And I dont have enough room to list the rest 250 character limit.... lol...Summary: I've owned a PS3 and the older Xbox and the slim. Your taking a risk of throwing your money down the drain when you buy from Microsoft. They do ...
Summary: I've owned a PS3 and the older Xbox and the slim. Your taking a risk of throwing your money down the drain when you buy from Microsoft. They do not care about customer satisfaction they care solely about profits. They rush their products out the door and leave their customers stranded when issues arise that could have been fixed by taking their time with the product. I will never buy from Microsoft again. I am trading my Xbox 360 slim when my new power supply gets here for a PS3 slim. Have fun ripping off your customers Microsoft.

Great game system!
by William924 on February 11, 2012
Pros: Beats any other gaming system out there. Games played directly off the hard drive are extremely fast. Super quiet an runs warm but not hot.
Cons: An HDMI cable would have been nice.
Summary: If you discard all the Play Station owners negativity, this is a screaming machine!

Summary: The xBox 360 is a behemoth of a console with very intense graphics and a huge arsenal of games to be played. The revamped Metro-Style UI is a plus and simplifies the experience and overall boosts the experience positively. Games look fantastic like Battlefield 3 and Final Fantasy XIII. xBox Live is an awesome experience, but you do have to pay a monthly/yearly premium, but overall is better than the PS3's free online experience. You have to buy the Kinect if you decide to buy the 360, really fun to play with. Overall an awesome console!
