The good: More affordable $299 price; slimmer, more compact design with quieter operation; all games in high-definition; easy-to-use interface; doubles as a Blu-ray and upscaling DVD player; built-in Wi-Fi; spacious hard drive; HDMI output with 1080p support; no external power supply; built-in Web browser; free online gaming service.
The bad: Lacks backward support for PS2 games; no infrared port means non-Bluetooth universal remotes aren't compatible; online gaming, media, and commerce options still aren't as fully developed as Xbox Live, though they're getting better.
The bottom line: With a smaller design, more energy-efficient operation, lower price tag, and built-in Blu-ray and multimedia capabilities, the PS3 Slim delivers a compelling package for an affordable price.

The console has a great game library of original exclusive titles as well as a great library of non-exclusives like Call of Duty or The Elder Scrolls series. Sony is still rocking the PlayStation 3, and I'm glad to see it, because it's a great system and it will continue to be.

Summary: I have had a PS3 for over a year now, and I still love it! I'm' not a fan of FPS's so I can't help you with that, if you want massively multiplayer, just get an XBOX, but everything else, get a PS3. I am an Assassin, I love all of their games. And it looks stunning on the PS3, So do all of the Singleplayer games. The move is good as well, very intuitive controls and good motion tracking. It's not the Wii, not at all, it is so much better.
BOTTOM LINE: Get. It. -

Pros: Blu ray, free online gaming on the playstation network, pre installed hard drive, on board wireless capabilities, stereoscopic 3D compatable, rechargeable controller, netflix integration, internet browser, bluetooth, gaming in full 1080p resolutions
Cons: The matte finish looks cheap, the internet browser is somewhat lacking, the playstation network isn't as well composed as xbox live, no backwards compatability with ps2 games, otherOS has been removed, doesnt come with hd cables.

Summary: I'll start off by saying that I've been gaming on playstation products ever since the first was released back in 1994. I've also owned a few xbox's and a few 360's, and while I like microsoft's gaming systems, im always drawn back to sony, I absolutly love the PS3 plain and simple. I love that I can be gaming all day, stop and decide to watch netflix for a while, then go back and game some more and not need to worry about the system being overheated. Another thing I noticed is how quiet the playstation stays, unlike the 360, I can play on the PS3 all day and not have to worry about my system getting too loud. I personally prefer the ps3 controller over any other controller, and I love the fact that the ps3 controller is rechargeable and I dont have to spend money on batteries. I enjoy playing
fps (such as MW3) over the playstation network, although I feel that more could be put into it. I find the user interface to be simple and easy to use making navagation a breeze. altogether the ps3 blends together all its multimedia features very nicely, into one powerhouse platform that can be enjoyed for years to come. -

Pros: Fun, Easy To Use, PSN Membership Is Free, Internet Browser, Online features, Great Sony Exclusive Games, TV/Movie Features are Epic!
Cons: Way too many updates in one season, Sometimes Freezes, Bricks when you least expect it, 4.0 Update is a disaster, No PS4 Soon because Sony believes in a 10 Year Life Span. The PS3 Began in 2006.

Sony believes their products should have a 10 year life span. The PS3 Was made in 2006. So it will release in 2016 or 2017. So I Suggest you stop saving money for a PS4 And enjoy the PS3. It'll be as good as it gets! The Playstation exclusives games are what make this console shine! (Uncharted, Little Big Planet, Resistance, etc.) If you are a movie fan however, this is better than the X360. Netflix is easy to stream here, BestBuy Cinema is exclusive on this PS3, And there's also Vudu which will let you watch one movie Free! There's more on the Playstation Store where you can find Games, Movies, Themes, Avatars, and more! If you have Playstation Plus (Sold Seperately), you get a discount on pretty much everything. Now go out there and get yourself a PS3 Slim because you know you will enjoy it!

Pros: Blu-Ray + gaming; free online play w/PSN; excellent Wifi capabilities; media streaming capabilities (whether it be NetFlix or from home network). Also, some nice downloadable titles are available from PSN.
Cons: Yellow/Red Light of Death. I received this for XMAS 2 years ago. I loved it while it lasted. However, it died after 22 months and I'm not sure why (flashing red light) as I'm not a hard core gamer and I treat all of my electronics with kid gloves.
