2010 Mazda MX-5 Miata price range: $22,960.00

The good: Tight steering and a precise gearbox make driving the 2010 Mazda Miata a very enjoyable experience. Retractable hard top does not affect trunk space.
The bad: Navigation and iPod integration are not options. Could use more power.
The bottom line: The 2010 Mazda MX-5 Miata is an absolute blast to drive, but tech options lag behind the pack.

Pure exhilaration/a street-legal go-kart for grown-ups.
by Section147 on August 13, 2010
Pros: I enjoy DRIVING. There may not be a truer driver's car being manufactured today.
Cons: Clutch can make a racket if you're not downshifting like you should. Other than that? Perfection.

Points off for no nav or iPod? Seriously? Geez, how did we ever live without those conveniences? Hey...throw some maps in the glove, fire up the CD player and enjoy the DRIVE. To speak negatively about the MX-5 simply because it isn't as "tech" savvy as some would like is absolutely inane.

A perfect "British" roadster, updated. Flawless!
by mdcruiser on January 30, 2011
Pros: They got it right with the styling. Gorgeous, glued to the road. The lack of GPS is part of the simplicity of the MX-5. The 167hp is fine -- you're supposed to use the gearbox on a roadster! Power retractable roof is glorious.
Cons: Haven't found a flaw yet. I wish there was a national MX-5 club and magazine!
Summary: Grand Touring PRHT is a relatively luxurious screaming bargain.

A fun car for the right person
by jimb100 on August 6, 2010
Pros: Fun to drive, reliable, inexpensive to operate
Cons: Small, tight cabin. Cramped with little room to move around if ove 5'10", slow, you'll spend a lot of time with the gas pedal to the floor to keep it moving.
Summary: As a weekend car, it fun on sunny days. Every day driver, not so much.

Miata was never a "tech" car, nor should it be.
by JohnMcGrew on August 6, 2010
Pros: Relatively faithful to its 20+ year heritage; inexpensive to buy and own. Balanced & decent performance.
Cons: Continues to put on weight. No spare means you are reliant upon the run-flat tires; you're screwed if you trash one in the boonies and they're expensive when it's time to replace them.
Summary: The Miata was never meant to be street racer or a "tech" car. The marketplace is full of more powerful, heavy, complex, and expensive 2-seat alternatives to choose from. It ...
Summary: The Miata was never meant to be street racer or a "tech" car. The marketplace is full of more powerful, heavy, complex, and expensive 2-seat alternatives to choose from. It was originally conceived to be an inexpensive, well balanced, and reliable roadster to enjoy the outside world in. If you're looking for anything else, this isn't your car.

Summary: Overall you buy a Miata now for the sames reason you did in the 90's. It isn't cutting edge, but for a reason. The Miata was made to the driver to feel apart of the car. Most cars you feel like you are driving and it's a distant relation between you and the car. The Miata fixes that and adds to it's fun. Granted I would like to see IPod compatibility and a sub. Also Mazda, get rid of the "Grinning" front end ONLY CHILDREN LIKE IT!
