2011 BMW Z4 sDrive35is price range: $61,050.00

The good: The BMW Z4 sDrive35is' adaptive suspension responds well whether cruising through the city or carving the canyons, and the dual-clutch transmission makes fast shifts. Available cabin tech includes an excellent navigation system.
The bad: The retractable top folds into the trunk, which limits cargo capacity and messes with the weight distribution. The transmission's sport setting could be more aggressive.
The bottom line: Although not as hard-edged as some sports cars, the 2011 BMW Z4 sDrive35is provides plenty of driving fun and, except for the lack of cargo capacity, makes a fine daily driver.

SMOOTH AND VERSATILE CRUISER
by RONJONSON on September 5, 2011
Pros: Smooth power, extreme comfort compared to any Porsche I have owned, eye-catching looks, tight and secure cabin when you need it, 30+ MPG. Great visibility, even with the top up. It just feels right.
Cons: Minimal cargo space. No spare. Needs more 12 volt outlets.

Summary: I believe this my 3.0 is a great compromise between an SL and Boxster. It is smooth, comfortable and luxurious, when it needs to be. Sporty, sure-footed and quick when you want it to be. Room for big American guys and beautiful American women with long legs. Better built than a "Plastic Impala" (with no antiquated pushrods) and considerably less expensive. And, not a rattle in the house. Better warranty too. Not a sub-5 second 0-60 sled, but fast enough to get anyone in serious trouble with the guys in Crown Victorias. Would like to see a DSG transmission in the 3.0. But, the conventional automatic is smooth and sure-shifting. Could use a little more punch in the standard sound system. This is all the convertible you will ever need. It is refinement personified. I had a 2003 Z4, and it was a disturbing car, in many ways, especially to the eyes. But, this car has bettered its predecessor in every possible way. There are faster cars. And, there are more radiical ones. But, the 2011 Z4, 3.0 does a lot of things well.

No Manual?
by kevinskrause on August 5, 2010
Pros: Added Boost
Cons: No Manual?
Summary: Added performance is great but the lack of a full manual option would push me torwards the 35i (shipped out to CA for the Dinan special).

Summary: I'll admit when I first picked mine up, I was pretty impressed. It looked nice, drove smooth, and was a convertible, and who doesn't like convertibles. Sadly, after just a week of driving the car to the hospital and back for work, the transmission broke down. I took it back to the dealership, and they offered to fix it for a bmw-only ridiculous price. I paid this, but this car is not worth the trouble. I suggest to anyone who wants this car, go with a Porsche instead.
