The good: With excellent handling and a powerful, efficient engine, the 2010 Hyundai Genesis Coupe 3.8 Track thrills while coming in at a very affordable price. IPod connectivity is standard, and the Infinity audio system sounds incredible.
The bad: Navigation isn't currently available for the Genesis Coupe, although Hyundai might make it available later this year. The iPod interface is difficult to use.
The bottom line: You would be hard-pressed to find a better everyday sports car at the 2010 Hyundai Genesis Coupe 3.8 Track's price. Excellent audio features are just icing on the cake.

Incredibly tight and responsive. Huge bang for the buck
by alexbakker on June 2, 2009
Pros: Very sturdy feel to the car. It is fast and responsive. The car corners extremely well and has superb handling and breaking. It is just plain out fun to drive.
Cons: The coupe has the Hyundai logos and it is too bad that Hyundai didn't put the Genesis logos on the vehicle which the sedan has. Though the car has an adjustable electronic seat but the degrees that the back of the seat moves is manual and is annoying

Summary: The Genesis Coupe 3.8 is just down right super fun to drive. I have the automatic and have found the car to be very responsive and accelerates quickly. The paddle shifters are a neat addition, but I have found little benefit to using them opposed to keeping it in automatic. Cornering is smooth and the car does not feel strained at all when accellerating through the corners. The steering is very tight and responsive. I've found the car to have good visibility and not much blind spots. Front headroom is ample and so is the front leg room. The rear seats fit children much better than adults. The headroom in the rear is not great and neither is the leg room, that said; the back seat will accomodate adults (uncomfortably) due strickly to head and leg room.
The Infinity Sound system is nothing less than spectacular. It is by far the best sounding factory stereo system that I have ever heard. Despite CNets review stating that the Bluetooth intergration does not download your cell phones phonebook, it does. The phonebook works very well and it has recognized every name that I ask it to call.
The car runs on regular gas and that is a real bonus. The steering wheel has a great feel to it and I have found the blue dash to be very easy to read at night. The layout of the dials are easy to access and read. The seats are very comfortable and the leather does not feel cheap. My wife and I have been very happy with the performance of the car so far. I encourage you to drive one.1 out of 1 users found this user opinion helpful.

A very fun car to drive
by obelisk3847 on May 31, 2009
Pros: Very Fast, good option set, decent fuel economy and really gets a lot of attention when you are out.
Cons: Very little torque at idle makes adjusting to this car after driving a manual Volkswagon a pain in the backside.
Summary: I have owned a 3.8 GT (the Canadian equivalent of the US Track Edition) for a couple of months now and really like the car.

The biggest adjustment I have had to make was with how I was used to engaging the clutch. In my Volkswagen with a 2.5 litre engine I could I had so much torque at idle you could start in first without using the throttle. Consequently you get used to driving it by feeling the clutch engage before accelerating... that however does not work in this car. You really need to ensure that you modulate the throttle correctly or you will stall it. Not a big deal but I had to actually think about it consciously untilk I got used to.
This car is very quick and even with the stiff suspension is not an uncomfortable ride. My biggest complaint is a noise that comes from the pillar in the back seat. The dealership took a look at it once already but thought the noise was coming from an extra tow hook the factory had put in the trunk of my car with the jack... not.1 out of 1 users found this user opinion helpful.

Love this car
by rhwdetroit on July 6, 2010
Pros: Not the fastest or best handling sports car but the warranty, quality, and looks make it the best bang for your buck
Cons: Back seat useless for adults, bad seat belt positioning, power moon roof doesn't work when car is off but power windows still do

Summary: I was tossin' up the idea of buying a Camaro. I went to go shopping and saw a green Genesis in front of a hyundai dealer and decided to go check it out. After the test drive I was sold and bought a red GT! I love it despite its few set backs. For a little extra money you can go from a 5/60k b2b warranty to a 10/100k. Its fun, looks great, has plenty of power and almost noone else has one. People are always asking me what it is. Some find it hard to believe it is a hyundai.

Pros: 1. The interior/exterior design is beautiful. Tires/wheels are superb.
2. Good power
3. Very comfortable for two people
4. Smooth on the highway
5. Very capable with winter tires on the snowCons: 1. The gearbox/clutch is not up to par with the car.
2. Too much plastic in the dashboard/doors
3. Radio display is too limitedSummary: This is an excellent car that could be outstanding if not for the gearbox/clutch issue. Shorter and more precise shifts with a short clutch would make this a true ...

No buyers remorse here!

I'm 6'3" and fit comfortably in both front seats. The handling is tight and responsive, the car beautiful from all angles, the dash doesn't look cheap like some reviews indicate, and the value can't be beat considering the standard options on the Track model.
Haven't driven in the snow yet (living in MA, that'll come soon), but I'm not concerned given the standard ESC and ABS and the paddle shifters which will allow me to keep it in 2nd gear in snowy conditions.
The acceleration is perfectly sensitive. You can drive it conservatively and make it sound like an average car by easily keeping the RPMs under 2,500. But once you decide to drive it as a rear-wheel drive sports car, the vehicle growls like you would expect from an 8-cylinder, even though it's just a 6 with a 306 HP (on regular gas - 316HP on 91 octane.)
The ride is so smooth that it feels like 50 when you're going 90, and it feels like 20 when you're going 45.
The navigation wasn't available when I bought the car (it is now) so I can't comment on that aspect. The Infinity sound system w/ subwoofer pushes amazingly clear sound quality and non-distorting bass when turned up loud. Can't complain when the standard options are an in-dash 6CD changer, AM/FM, XM, USB port and Ipod connections.
The bluetooth sound (from both sides) is great and the voice recognition is spot on.
The ONLY thing I have an issue with in this car is the audible "Transfer Complete" once the cell and car sych up. It happens everytime you start the car (assuming you keep the bluetooth enabled on your cell) and cuts out the music for 3 seconds.
I don't give out 5 stars unless it's the perfect mix of value, quality, enjoyment and exhilaration. While I had a horrible dealer experience I won't get into, especially since every dealer is different, even if I factor that problem into my rating this ride is a 5/5 without hesitation.
