Summary: I don't have much to say bad about this car, I cannot believe CNet would give it a lower rating solely because it doesn't have navi. This is a cheap car, most people buying it are looking for something economical with base features and good gas mileage, and most of us have navi on our phones, why is it needed built into the car to get a better rating?! My gas mileage has been awesome, coming from a Honda Element 2009. Driving the same way, not trying to conserve gas, I'm getting an average of low 30's mpg. If I tried to drive better I'd certainly get an AVERAGE of high 30's. It has good pickup for what it is, although a little slow off the line, but we're talking about a cheap car, not a race car. The SE model 2013 adds heated mirrors, bluetooth, 6 speaker sound system, turn signal lights on the mirrors, sport tuned steering with an automatic tranny for $17095 MSRP + destination fee. You get alot of car for your money in my opinion. I like it ALOT better than the Element I was driving, its a fun little car to drive. I've seen complaints about the steering, but I haven't noticed anything bad - I'm coming from a Honda Element and a Honda Pilot, going to this really does feel like I"m in a small sports car without the sticker. Also, if you compare the other similar models in the same line up, Honda Fit, Toyota Yaris and Kia Rio, the Hyundai destroys them in Price (when comparing apples to apples, feature for feature in a build), and in warranty - 5yr new car and 10 year base warranty! If you buy this you will have a fun car, sportronic shifting, long warranty, and something that actually looks good compared to the competition. You'll have a solid car for at least 100,000 miles! WELL worth it and well worth 5 stars!!

Great on economy, low on comfort

Summary: I purchased a 1995 Accent used, and although it was small and kinda cramped, the gas mileage was well worth it. It was a 1.6 engine with 5 speed manual transmission. It got at least 45 mpg. Never had any problems with it. Very fast, very maneuverable, and very economical. I got rid of it after a few years because we needed something with more room, and got a mini-van. Now I am looking for another and newer 5 speed Accent, but I refuse to pay that much money for a car with crank windows and manual locks! What is this? The 1960's? The geniuses at Hyundai need to wake up and join the 21st Century when it comes to this. Just because people want a 5 speed doesn't mean they want crank windows and manual locks! What a pain in the butt that would be for a 4 door! Get serious!

Great car, excellent value
by PellaWoj on November 3, 2011
Pros: SE hatchback with manual/stick: fine gear shift positions; comfortable center armrest; plenty of acceleration and enough power to reach highway speed in 3rd gear; easy to use sound system with integrated MP3 capability; intuitive climate controls; clear d
Cons: Seats are a tad firm (not nearly as bad as Honda Fit). Rear visibility is limited. No sunroof option. No side mirror turn signals. At 70 mph, the steering needs a bit more attention to keep on track that I expected (but I may be spoiled after being used

beats out 2 on warranty, power/torque, cargo room, looks (imho)
beats out Yaris on eveCons: Sunroof option
Nav option,

Summary: Top marks in our book, we're moving from a large hand me down SUV that finally bit the dust and are in the market for something fuel efficient, good looking and priced right...Fit and Fiesta come closest but once you factor in price as similarly equipped the Accent stands alone.

An astounding improvement over its predecessor.
by Davis313 on September 11, 2011
Pros: Surprisingly fun to drive, a nice amount of technology, great styling, fairly communicative steering, steering is light and tossable, really approachable price, arguably best in class.
Cons: There's no Hyundai BlueLink in any models.
Summary: The Accent has improved vastly over its predecessor in every single category, and then some. Hyundai is on a roll, and the Accent certainly raises the bar for economy cars.
