  Very Basic Language - Over Priced - Not a good buy

  Pros: It comes with a nice leather case - It is a good size and light - It looks quite nice - The build quality is good - Major components are Japanese and its put together in China - It would be good for a kid or for real basic language help

  Cons: In the Phrase Mode It only translates pre-selected phrases which you might never wish to use. In the Word Mode It only translates one word at a time. It does not translate phrases of your own choice. Back Light is poor you really cant use it at night

  Summary: If I were to have handled this translator at a shop and were to have used it for a few minutes it would have become abundantly clear it is more of a toy than a serious translator for the businessman. It has games features - well who wants to play games - I WANT TO TRANSLATE LANGUAGE! - It will not translate phrases of your own choice and that immediately is a problem - It is way over priced and really not worth more than fifty quid - It would be good for a teenager but not for an individual needing more than basic language. It will also in the Word Mode only tranlate one word at a time and may not recognise many of your word choices. On the plus side it has the ability to translate basic language of its own choice into many languages - For the Serious Businessman or Traveller - Dont Buy It - Use a Berlitz Phrase Book instead its cheaper and better - Having bought this item and paid around 250 US Dollars plus import duty and tax bringing the total to over 300 Dollars I am resigned to using it albeit very seldom
