The good: Built-in wireless networking; includes detachable speakers; reliable wireless reception; supports the Rhapsody streaming music service and some Internet radio stations; analog and digital audio outputs; upgradable firmware.
The bad: Doesn't play video or image files; substandard speakers; low-end, plastic look and feel; digital audio output doesn't work with Rhapsody streaming music.
The bottom line: The Linksys WMLS11B streams your digital music to any room in the house, but you'll want to use your own speakers.

Too early to market
Pros: It streams Internet radio, which is great. But Internet radio is by it's nature buggy, so that's been a problem.
Cons: The biggest con is the fact that, as other posters note, it only plays 10 of your songs at a time, no matter how many you've got in your playlist! WORSE, I spent hours on the phone with tech support trying to debug only to learn later (as another poster

I finally found out how to make it work!
Pros: I thought the sound quality was pretty good. I like the remote too. I found the setup to be fairly straight-forward. Streaming was reliable, with very few skips, and was much better than wireless speakers I have tried in the past.
Cons: Beware: This player will only work with Musicmatch Version 8.2, which is shipped with the product. I made the mistake of purchasing a Musicmatch Plus license for $19.99 and the right to all future upgrades for another $39.99, then allowed the software t

Great Idea, bad delivery
Pros: The product is small, cute and wireless. Works with its own speakers but better with an audio reciever. (But then it's not wireless)
Cons: It constantly loses the Media Server, and when it reboots the DHCP doesn't work, you have to manually assign your own IP Address, and if you are not network savvy that could steal the fun from this POS.

Summary: I found this unit at a liquidation outlet for $40. For that price I can't complain about it's many shortcomings and limitations. It's fine for playing internet radio and some networked files through my home theater receiver. The SPDIF output is handy, as well as the wired network jack - since the 80211.b wifi slows my whole network down & I'd have to disable my WPA-PSK to support this. Again, for the short money, if you like to tinker, you could do worse.
It could be handy with a DC power source, for listening to internet radio near a hotspot. As I said, good for tinkering

I should've Listened
Pros: Circuit City refunded my money
Cons: Horrible documentation, No support: this is usually not a factor for me, but I couldn't even get started with set-up. The set-up guide and CD show different settings/hook-up for network cable--I had to figure it out for myself. Playlists do not play

VERY limited features
Pros: setup was fairly easy.
Cons: only plays with music match software. doesn't play any music that you've purchsed online. will not play internet radio stations that stream with .rm or .wm format(realplayer or windows media)- most stations. Technical support is absolutely horrendous.

OK once it is properly installed.
Pros: Two days ago I would have given this thing a hearty thumbs down. But once the latest firmware was installed (version 1.09) it behaved much better. Also, use Rhapsody ... the 10-song bug doesn't apply. (Note: Make sure that you check UPNP in the Rhapsod
Cons: Its a huge headache to get this thing to work. Once it is up, though, and you have downloaded firmware version 1.09 (and later) from the Linksys website, it works MUCH better that the NetGear MP101.

worst product i have ever bought.
by radjerry on December 19, 2009
Pros: dont know if there is any, it has never really worked from the day i bought it.
Cons: to hard to setup. i tried with there support, got it running a couple times, then it quit. they sent out a replacement, but it still never really worked. if there own techs can not help you setup it up, whats that say about the product.
Summary: worst product ever. if there own techs can not help you set it up, whats that say about the product. i bought it when it first came out. dont waste ...

Still trying it out...
Pros: Easy setup, small and clean form factor (opposite of the ugly phillips streamium), menu system is easy to use, comes with speakers but can also hook up to soundsystem for better sound
Cons: Just installed the latest firmware so some of these issues might already be resolved: Server constantly needs to be reset in between usage--somewhere the connection keeps getting lost (bug), the 10-song playlist issue that everyone else has mentioned (bu
