  Your Clock Radio is Officially Obsolete

  Summary: I have owned over 10 internet radios. Four Logitechs and a sampling of the other company's offerings. Logitech's units are superior to any others on the market. The Sony Dash looks promising, licensing the Chumby Platform, but we have to wait for its release.
  
  The Touch is a compact unit. It takes up very little real estate on your night stand. You basically plug it in, it finds your network, you enter the password on the very usable touch screen and you're off to the races. Unlike previous Squeezeboxes, this one almost sets itself up. In less than five minutes, you're listening to music. I purchased it to replace the Squeezebox Radio, a nice unit with a self-contained speaker, but inferior sound.
  
  I have mine hooked up to my Audioengine5's and the sound is nothing short of excellent, probably owing in large part to the 24bit da chip, which reproduces the sounds with very little distortion.
  
  The Touch has a 4.3" screen. Using the Flickr app, you can use it to view your photo collections, which is a nice feature. It will also display cover art from a variety of sources. You can play your Sirius stations through it, if you are a subscriber to the advance Sirius service. Pandora is there and once you input your account info, all of your custom radio stations come up. Virtually every major internet radio service is present on the touch and easily accessible. You can also download the Squeeze Server which will allow your Touch to access music scattered around your network, Wired or Wireless.
  
  Alarms--There's never enough of them. The standard clock radio comes with 1 or 2 alarms. Some units and internet models give you several. The Squeezebox family gives you the ability to create an unlimited array of alarms with different music sources. Listen to Flamenco on Monday, Rock on Tuesday and 90's hits the rest of the week. Wanna wake up for the setting of the gold price in London, no problem.
  
  Logitech has truly outdone itself on this model. In my opinion, the only thing missing is preset station buttons, but accessing your stored "favorite" stations mostly makes up for this omission.
  
  For a simple clock radio replacement, the $299 price tag is high. However when you factor in all of the features, the ability to play your complete music library from a thumb drive and the probably elimination of your bulky stereo system, the Squeezebox Touch provides a lot of value, and best of all you don't need to be a sound system installer to get it up and running.

  I LOVE this product! Just what I was looking for!

  Pros: Easy set-up
  App for Android and iOS for controlling the unit
  Great quality audio
  Easy to add music to the Squeezebox server, it's done automatically

  Cons: Pricey

  Summary: I would definitely recommend this product for streaming your music collection over Wi-Fi. I have this unit downstairs in my living room and it works like a charm! I can control it from my desktop, my Galaxy Nexus, My Galaxy Tab 10.1.. it streams music from my library on my computer over wi-fi with almost no hiccups... what more do you want? I don't really use Pandora or internet radio so I can't say much except that it works for me. There's also a cool app that plays ambient sounds through your speakers! I am getting one for my patio once my renovation is complete!

  Great product for listening to HD Audio.

  Pros: Performs flawlessly on HD audio.
  Very good sound that is great when hooked up to an external DAC.
  The server software - SqueezeCenter - is not perfect but already very good.

  Cons: Memory (128 MB) too low ; you can't really plug a large portable drive to the Touch USB and listen. That is too much for the power spec of the Touch.
  Doesn't support 24bits 192 kHz for playback.

  Summary: I am using my SB Touch everyday, and I look forward to an upgraded version (SB Touch II) that would go over the limitations ; I would definitively trade it in.

  Finally the death of the CD Changer

  Summary: I am pleased to say this is the device I have been searching for to finally replace my CD Player. It's not often a product exceeds your expectations but this has. To replace my CD player, all I wanted, and I didn't think it was going to be a challenge, was a playback device that would play back WAV (lossless) CD Images ripped using Microsofts Media Player to an external USB Hard Drive that would include a remote and graphic display (let alone the touch Screen that this has). And it was as easy as that, I am burning CD's to an USB HD, plugging it into SqueezeBox, and SB does it all ! Launch the SqueezeBox app in the device, it scans the HD, builds a library file on the HD, and all the folders, Art and Song Titles all come through and are easily accessed by the touch screen and remote. But most importantly the sound quality, using a coax digital out into a Marantz 7300 OSE through to Dynaudio Audience 82's the sound was pretty good. Through some older Jamo707's even better as they have been well and truely run-in. The sound on the Dynaudio's was a little 'bright', especially on vocals, but still close to CD Quality. Reading another review they suggested a DAC. And so I did. I added a DacMagic from Cambridge Audio, and WOW. Not only was the music quality close to CD quality, it was better. The CD player was an old DENON Alpha Processing DCM460, an oldy but a goody, and now retired.

  A complete waste of money

  Pros: Nothing...maybe would make a good paperweight

  Cons: As of March 12 does not work with Pandora, Slacker and many other music services. Per logitech's own support forum they are unable to solve.

  Best Beta Streamer EVER!!!!!

  Pros: The good: sound quality superb; setup is fast; design is okay; web interface is real well designed visually and allows you to control your Squeezebox exactly with the software constructed exactly, like WMP and my real old Roku Soundbridge M1000

  I bought this soon after Logitech released it & had real high hopes for it but unfortunately it fell flat for me. My old Soundbridge looks better and is more reliable. The Squeezer does sound much better than the Soundbridge and the Web/pc/Android software is all pretty cool.
  So a better sounding homlier cheap streamer with annoying software worth buying? I guess to me it is; if your willing to put in just a little work and value great sound quality then you should, too.

  Bad cut and paste. Item 4 should read:

  Nice Box but Not the Best Solution

  Summary: When announced, this unit was the cat's meow, and I would have killed for it a year ago. I wanted an elegant way to play Pandora, Rhapsody, internet radio, iTunes, etc. through my receiver without involving my PC. Big problem was that they took an entire year longer than intended (and announced) to come out with this. In the mean time, a few better alternatives came out. Here's the latest best option:
  
  1) Buy an Airport Express from Apple ($69 refurb). Easily connects to your WiFi network and your receiver (can even connect via optical if your receiver accepts it).
  
  2) Buy an iPod Touch ($229).
  
  That's $298 - all in. If you happen to own an iPhone or Touch, you just saved $230 over the SB Touch and gained, well, please read on...
  
  The most recent iOS 4.2 includes AirPlay, a feature that's free and largely overlooked. This includes an on-screen icon that lets you select the option to output from any app on your Touch to your Airport Express (your receiver). This includes, of course, Pandora, Rhapsody, iHeart Radio, Slacker, iTunes, and anything else you can think of.
  
  OK, just so we're clear, this iPod Touch has now completely replaced every function of the Logitech Squeezebox Touch - check. Oh yeah, unlike the Squeezebox Touch, all that functionality is now free to move about your home as a remote. Oh yeah, and I heard that the Touch can do a couple of other things too!
  
  Just for the record, I am not an Apple fan-boy. I use their products when they make sense and don't require an all-Apple ecosystem. Also, I am a fan of Logitech products. I own several and just bought a couple more over the holidays (love the S715i btw).

  Logitech delivers no user instructions in package.

  Pros: I´m sure it has a lot of sofistication for technically oriented people who have nothing else to do than spend their time with computers.

  Cons: No instructions or support. Only thing to be found is Logitech squeezebox server software, which also lacks instructions. Beware of this product if you are normal person who not have used products like this before. Complete waist of money.
