Summary: I have to say that I first bought this camcorder thinking it was a cool, very expensive electronic toy for adults. But then I realized how cool this camcorder is. The picture quality is amazing as long as there is plenty of light. But as soon as there is little less light the quality gets very poor.
I have to say that i see this is being the way of the future, I am selling my miniDV camcorder on Ebay now. I love the fact that there are no tapes, and I can put all my videos instantly on my PC.
Overall, I have to say that this camera is worth the money.

Summary: I bought this camera because a friend of mine bought another Aiptek product and said you can't beat the price. I like it because it was only $120 at Best Buy. I am going on a few trips in the next couple of months and if I take this camera with me and it gets stolen or broken than I wouldn't be as heartbroken as if it were a $1000 HD camera. The optics are a little too consumer grade for a lot of needs that I have which means I will probably get one of those $1000 cameras eventually. but for just a quick and easy way of capturing good video, this is a great start. plus you can put a lot more SD cards in your pocket than blank tapes or dvd's. And it even has a flange for a tripod if you even have a need for that.

I would urge you not to buy this camcorder

Pros: High Definition 720P @60 fps or 1080P @30 fps
Cons: It lacks the image stabilizer feature found on most other video cameras, meaning it records the subtle vibrations of your hand, making videos look shaky and choppy and not fun to watch.

Summary: I purchased this camcorder for the same reasons as everyone one else. It's cheap and records in HD. Other reviewers say that it's the best camera for it's price, but this isn't true. I would recommend this camcorder to children who want something to play with, but if you want to record your family, friends, and other events, this camera is not for you.
The fatal flaw of this video camera is that it records the minute vibrations of your hand, because it does not have the image stabilizing feature found on most camcorders and digital cameras that cost about the same.
Even if you hold this camcorder as still as you can, it will record the tiny movements you're not even aware of, and don't even think about moving the camcorder back and forth. Your videos will be so shaky and choppy they will not be enjoyable to watch. If you purchase this camera you will find that out for yourself and you won't like it I can promise you that.
Recording in high definition is not as good as it sounds. After all, you lose the HD quality when you burn it onto a DVD. The only way you can keep the HD quality is if you have a bluray or HD DVD burner. Normal DVD burners won't work. Basically, the only way you'll get to watch your videos in HD is if you hook the camera directly to your HD TV. But you can only do this so long as the video is on your camcorders memory card.
The zoom feature is also not very good, because it's only 3x and full zoom makes your recordings blurry. It doesn't zoom in smoothly either. It's more like 3 fast chops.
Other video cameras around the same price have a 32x zoom and they zoom in smoothly.
This camera is a toy for kids. Ultimately the choice is yours.
Happy Shopping

Summary: I bought this camera with the my expectations very low. $129.99 is a good deal for the high tech offered for this camera. I needed something that does not use tapes. I got to the desert alot and film my friends and I in some pretty extreme conditions (blowing sand, dirt, snow). So I usually buy cheap camcorders because, I know it's going to break or freeze up eventually. Finding this camera has given me a new option.
I've yet to try it out in the desert but, what I do like about it, is it is small (fits in your palm) and light. You can "sneak" it into events where your not supposed to have camcorders.
Films pretty decent during the day with lots of light or at night with lots of light also. Don't zoom in too far, it's not good at handling fast action while zoomed in.
So, as long as you know you're not getting a high-end camera this thing is good for what it is. Not a solve all shooting solution but a good one for something that might break on you down the road.

Summary: I had almost no expectations for this little camcorder. I am quite pleased with the results. This is a great way to get into the high def age without spending a small fortune. It's not pro quality by any means; but works very well for shooting baby vids and web material. I'm glad to see a company sell a product at a fair price; even when they could take advantage of the new high def hype!

Summary: This is a great camera but there's a problem that's driving me crazy. I cannot play back movies that I've copied from the camera to my harddrive. I can play them back on my PC when I hook the camera up with USB. I keep getting an error message when I use Windows Media Player, and I only get sound when I use Quicktime. When I called Aiptek, they said they had heard a few of these complaints but can't recreate the problem at their offices. The rep suggested I download a product called VLC player, but I'd prefer just to use media player. Any suggestions? I like this camera a lot but if I can't save stuff to my harddrive I'll probably end up returning it.

I tested the zooming abilty myself when she returned and no matter how I used the zoom the picture was blury I mean super blury.
Stay off the zoom and the cam works ok hit the zoom kiss your video goodbye.

Cons: When you move a lot, sound can get a little sqeeky; Only has 2x zoom. On big plasma scrren video quality kind of sucks.

Summary: I am 13 years old and wanted a digital camera. But then I started filming with my parents older camcorder, and I loved it!
So now I decided to buy a camcorder instead and noticed a great deal at Aiptek.
I make my own movies now, make it look professional by editing the movie, use programs to zoom in, and use a cheap 50 dollar microphone which records perfect sound, making a professional looking movie!
It's really the best! Don't listen to the bad reviewers, they don't have this camera and made the wrong choice so now they are jealous so give bad reviews.
