The good: The ContourRoam manages to make Contour's already easy-to-use control scheme even easier by combining the power and record buttons. The ultrawide-angle lens makes framing a point-and-shoot affair. HD video quality is good.
The bad: The omission of dual recording modes and Bluetooth connectivity makes it impossible to change video or photo modes on the fly. A microSD card is not included in the purchase price.
The bottom line: The ContourRoam finally matches the rugged construction and ultrawide field of view of the competition, while still excelling as a sports camera with its ease of use and low price.

Summary: For the price, you can't touch this camera for what it can do. It's streamline shape looks appealing on the side of your helmet. Want to look like a teletubbie or like you know what you're doing? Contour scores points in my book for making an affordable HD cam that I'm not afraid to get wet. I use this camera exclusively for kiteboarding. It's design is perfect for capturing the experience on the water.

edit to original review... in regards to "Pros" I listed mounting options however my review was truncated. I want to add that integrating the threaded tripod hole into the body of the camera opens up many possibilities for mounting the camera.
Pros: Great 1080p image quality always ready to go 1 meter of water resistance WITHOUT the waterproof case Nice to put on the side of an helmet withou looking like an unicorn-GoPro lense protected by a plastic cover (replaceable), preventing scratching
Cons: Cant record 1080p with 170 vision angle, it gets only to 125 Cant choose the video format without a PC it doesnt have the bluetooth connection like the Contour Plus almoust sure that it doesnt have image stabilizer
Summary: Again, for this price, defenitly a strong choice, it wont let you down!
