  MUST BUY!!!

  Pros: Awesome focusing and zoom,awesome sound quality and super easy to use,very cheap price,i got mine for $205,great low lite shooting,and super easy menu navigation with the joystick,easy video playback!

  Cons: you must have a firewire adapter for your computer to put items one computer,but they're not very expensive adapters

  Summary: This camera is the best investment i have ever made.I am just a young teenager and wanted a camera do film anything i needed.This is that camera.It was well within my budget,well kind of,but you have to be willing to save money if you want a camcoder that will do what you want.I just wish you could also use a USB cable to plug it up to your computer.I still am super glad that i bought it and do not regret it one bit.The light works great and the zoom is spectacular.I thought it would be fuzzy if you zoomed in all the way but it wasn't unless the object was really really close to you.There is also a great battery info. screen.There are so much cool effects you can do like,black and white films,sepia,mirror,strobe,and classic.You can also make the screen go black or white once you finish shooting and then start shooting again for a neat looking film.The bottome line is that this is a super awesome camera and if you need a camera that does just what you need it to,FILM,than this is the camera.You must buy this if you do not have a lot of money to spend or just don't feel like spending a lot to get a great camera.MUST BUY!!!!!

  Quality of image over output cables is unaccecptable

  Summary: I loved this camera when I first bought it, until I looked at the output quality. It failed to match the quality of the video as seen in the viewer on-camera. Back to the store - opened another one - same story. The Mini DV tape has the image on it - just can't get it out of the camera! Plays much better on other Mini DV units. If one can't get images out of the device with good quality, what good is it? Tried both outputs, and cleaned the head ... no dice.

  although the body of the camera is made mostly with plastic instead metal, but for 216 dlls is ok. all in all an atractive package ready to use to enjoy with the family

  What I like about it is the manual mode, which you can do a lot with for an apparently $200 camera. My sister bought it a couple years ago, and she's been pleased with it.
  
  I recently picked it up as a replacement for my Fuji S1800, which recorded terribly and everything was auto in video mode. It recorded a very, very loud whirring in the video, and, while this JVC has it as well, it's significantly less, and far more tolerable.

  I've been very pleased with the recording quality of this camera. The modes are very nice, and, though I haven't personally tried the battery, my sister hasn't complined either. The effects are extensive as well, and they work very nicely.
  
  I'm sixteen and I plan to use this for a post-Apocalyptic short film that I'm working on, "The Hunt". I'll be posting test videos of this camera on my YouTube soon, as soon as I get a FireWire cable.
  
  That's one of two disadvantages I see to this camera: the FireWire cable. Though they're relatively inexpensive, it's still a hassle, which brings me to the fact that this camera uses DV tapes. It may just be that I'm lazy, but I prefer flash memory camcorders because of their simplicity and noise reduction.
  
  Cons aside, this camera is a great value for its price range. I'd definately reccomend it!
  
  (Note, in one to two months, I'll be upgrading to a Canon HF R100, also in this price range, but newer. That's not to say I don't love this camera! It's just a temp since I prefet HD video and this only has SD.)
