The good: The Kodak Playfull produces very good video quality for its price and size, is easy to use, and has good editing and sharing software.
The bad: Its screen might be too small for some users, the lens is fixed-focus, there's no flash or video light, and the battery can't be removed.
The bottom line: The Kodak Playfull minicamcorder is a pocketful of video fun, but it might be just too "mini" for some.

Response to other reviewer.

Pros: Small... (maybe too small)
Cons: Rather have the waterproof version, fixed focus.

Kodak has had small recorders for awhile now. My playsport is a year old now. Flip may have defined the market, but were not the only player.
My Playsport (not the model here) beat the Flip in several areas that made a friend of mine who was a Flip owner jealous: Waterproof, removable sd card, removable battery.
I personally think Cisco should have sold rather than closed the Flip line. (Unless they wanted the intellectual property.) Everyone claims "my phone can do that!" But I'd have trouble handing my $200 phone (still under contract) to my 7 year old on the beach. Instead I give him my playsport, and let him enjoy taking video and pictures to his heart's content... not worried about him dropping it in snow, water, sand, or incoming calls! I like having HD capture on my phone, don't get me wrong... but there is still a large market for people to do this with a stand alone products such as this.1 out of 1 users found this user opinion helpful.

Easy very portable camera, small
by dannysummerfest on July 22, 2011
Pros: Small possibly too small. Very ease to use, good battery life, clear pics and video
Cons: Too small, hard to determine how to hold. Need to be close to your subjects to get a good range. No zoom (even minimally

Summary: I liked this camera the cost was resonable, but after seeing a friends older Kodak (I believe it was a 1st version Playsport) I would pic that one. It is slightly larger (a good thing) and it has a 3x zoom. That doesn't sound like much but it makes a world of difference. The waterproof abilitys of the playsport is a bonus. I was impressed with the ease of use on both machines. I thought the cost was good to excellent.

Like the camera - hate the software company.
by aalake on July 22, 2011
Pros: Quick, easy to use. Nice quality for informal things - e.g., to play with my granchildren. Carry it around all day in my purse - easier than phone.
Cons: I knew nothing about e-mailing videos. Didn't know that you could not get good quality mailing from say, Outlook. Was talked into spending $100 with promises that were not true. Will upload fine to Facebook but best to use YouTube and send links to fri

Handy, small, creates 'good' video and pics.
by steve0215 on July 22, 2011
Pros: the high def setting shows a good picture, Picks up sound quite well. The 5 meg jpegs are good quality too. Easily unloads to you computer. We got the higher gig Sd card. So far the battery has not been a problem. We usually keep it charging until we use
Cons: Not professional quality video but the stabalizer makes it easy to watch. It froze on me once and I had to use the reset button. That made me reset date and time.
Summary: I think it does what it was designed for. Something you can throw in your pocket or purse and go. We have a lot more video of our grandkids now ...

Cisco kills Flip, Kodak launches playfull?
by pdxgear on May 9, 2011
Pros: small, simple
Cons: is this product needed?
Summary: interesting timing that Kodak decides to launch a video specific product at the same time Cisco kills their Flip. Kodak late to the party again?
