The good: Excellent video for its class; waterproof to 10 feet; HDMI cable included; very good sharing software.
The bad: No built-in USB connector; short battery life at highest resolution; no memory card; sharing software is Windows only.
The bottom line: The Kodak Playsport is an excellent minicamcorder that can take some rough treatment and capture solid HD video.

Fantastic for the price

Pros: Far better video quality than any of my past camcorders - even digital tape. At 720 30fps (720p) the frames captured are quite acceptable for good email pictures even with not to violent action. The software that loads onto your computer is in the camer

Summary: I really thought it was a gamble that I was going to regret. A friend has a relatively expensive HD camcorder that impressed me but out of my price range. Still, I wanted the ability to capture good frames in a video so I waited and finally crossed my fingers and got the Kodak. I am most pleased with product quality, video and image quality. Paying twice as much wouldn't have gotten me enough more that I'd do it.

Pros: Compact, build quality feels solid, WATERPROOF, good selection of HD modes (720p/60fps is nice), flexible memory options with SD card, nice compact usb charger provided (works with any usb cable) along with standard micro-usb cable, easy to use.
Cons: None yet, just started using it. So far it works fine.

Pros: I have shot all my videos in the 720 60fps and they are excellent. I love the portability and waterproof features...takes great video and photos under water. It shoots a great HD picture and easy to share to youtube, facebook, etc.
Cons: No optical zoom...I wouldn't suggest using the digital zoom. Don't buy this as your digital camera. It's an HD video camera that happens to take pictures too...no flash.

Pros: External memory, still photo, video settings, stabilization, etc.
Cons: No flash and short battery.

Just a great little digital video camera. After two weeks use in the Pacific and Caribbean waters of Panama, the Kodak Playsport Zx5 proved to be a reliable, easy to use camera. One minor issue after removal from saltwater, powerbutton didn't always work. Just had to clean it in fresh water per directions. The video I captured on the sailboat, on land and snorkelling was awesome. Kodak got this one right!

Good Battery LifeCons: For some "ODD" reason, It Hanged many times when I first bought it, and had to "rest" it many times
Sound quality gets a little bit degraded when used for underwater videos, or when there is a lot of wind

Pros: Compact, user friendly function buttons, excellent image capture even underwater when set on 720P 60fps. Watertight doors sealed fine at 4ft depth. Great price for the performance!
Cons: In underwater use, if camera is turned off to save bat power, you need to go into tools to reset it for underwater use when camera is turned back on.
