The good: The waterproof/shockproof Kodak PlaySport Zx5 produces very good video quality for its price and size, is easy to use, and has good editing/sharing software.
The bad: The PlaySport doesn't have a built-in USB connector, there's no flash or video light, and the battery can't be removed.
The bottom line: The rugged Kodak PlaySport Zx5 is a very good minicamcorder, but falls just shy of improving on last year's model, despite being more durable.

Broke the first time i used it

Pros: portablility, easy to store in your pocket
Cons: not meant to be put in water even though it says waterproof to 3m

Summary: I bought this camera specifically to use on my honeymoon in Hawaii. The very first time i used it was on a snorkeling boat. It worked great for about 5 min then the camera turned off. Got back on the boat to examine it and it was water damaged. I didn't take the camera deeper than 3ft and was in the water for about 10 min. I made sure the doors were snaped tight before entering the water. This should not happen! This is the second playsport i have owned (zx3 was the first). I am very disapointed with this camera and don't think i can trust another kodak near water.

Summary: This is the perfect little camera for HD video. We used to use a 7 year old Canon camcorder. But, it's so big and heavy we hardly brought it along anywhere to capture videos of the kids, etc. This is great and much better than trying to use our phones video.

SD card door locks up

Doors lock up!

Pros: Shoots good videos and pics.
Cons: After two uses, neither door would open. Therefore, can't download or charge. We're contacting Kodak tomorrow to see if they'll replace it. If not, I'm the proud owner of a $150 paper weight! I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PRODUCT!!
