  Summary: This is a great camera for the price. It has perfect picture and video quality in both low light and sunny day situations. The only drawback is a 40 minute battery life but if you are not making very long movies that is ok. The time to charge the battery is around 2:30 which is not bad. Overall this is a great camera and i recommend it.

  Functions well as a camcorder but...

  Summary: I recently got this camcorder to tape concerts (open taping ones!) with. I was previously using a Panasonic PV-GS90, but that was too large causing my arms to get tired quicker. This camcorder has a zoom microphone function with makes everything loud and clear, and it also adjusts the audio volume automatically so concerts and lectures both come out just as clear. Also, this camcorder is just a few mm wider than my cellphone making it extremely portable. This is definitely most the important reason I wanted this camera.
  
  But when I am taping, my thumb slips a lot shutting off the camera unintentionally. Also, when taping concerts, the zoom is very poor and it makes it hard to get close to the performers by using zoom. Dark situations come out grainy in the recordings and too much red destroys the picture. I use the light bulb looking setting normally to avoid too much red in the picture. The battery life is also very poor and that is the only size available! But for being such a small battery, I guess it's not too bad. The EIS on the camera isn't that good compared to my previous camera's OIS. The video looks a lot shakier than my old one's even with EIS on. This might also be due to small size. Also the format it records in (.MOD) is very difficult to edit with programs. If you record in 4:3 you can just rename it to a .MPG file and it should work the same, but be more editable.
  
  Overall, the camcorder was worth it's price and if you are looking for something extremely small that gets the job done this is definitely a good camera for you. There are more cons, but each Pro easily outweighs the cons.

  Great pocket camera but lacks good video quality

  Pros: Size and weight. The price is good but you are paying for the size you can get many better cameras for the price of 299.

  Cons: Video quality, Zoom, Battery Life!!! Lasts an hour ( if that). I don't like the fact you have to plug in the AC adapter when you sync it. It isn't very friendly with photo management software such as iphoto on a Mac

  A real pocket camcorder

  Pros: It's easy to use and fun to operate. I have had this camera for over 8 months and really like it. I can put it on my belt with the enclosed case and use it quickly. Camera photos are fast and pretty good considering the low resolution.

  Cons: You must use the included editing program to upload the videos.
  It could use a higher resolution still digital photo.

  Summary: If one looks at this camcorder for what it is intended to be used for, it's a very good deal all round. Don't expect to shoot hours of video on a single charge. Don't expect great low-light ability. This really is a great alternative to using the video feature on most digital compact cameras. It is small enough to fit into a pants pocket (about the size of a well-stuffed gent's wallet) and makes shooting video quite easy with it's fully automatic setting.
  
  If you are looking for a basic camcorder with a feature set that allows for some tweaking (but not wholesale adjustments) this is a great model. I use it primarily for shooting short videos of the daughter, the pets, a family moment.
  
  As the battery life is fairly short under real-world conditions it doesn't make sense to purchase a media card bigger than 4GB in my opinion.
  
  In many ways I think this is the sort of camcorder that would be great for someone who is a fan of uploading short videos to sites like Youtube.
  
  So if you are looking for a very compact, easy to use, quick to shoot camcorder then I can highly recommend this one. If, however, you want or need more manual control options, need to be able to record for more than an hour (while using the zoom, making adjustments via the menus, etc.), then you will likely be better served elsewhere.

  Great alternative to cheap flash cams
