  Summary: I bought the slightly newer EZ229HD at Costco for $129. Seemed like an easy to use and slick product-and it is easy to use. I was impressed with the feature set and a removable SD card is a must for my tastes. I don't have high expectations for these pocket recorders and they generally deliver on those low expectations. I avoid Flip products because of the sealed memory and battery that cannot be changed out. I thought to try out the RCA and I must say it was below even my worst expectations in recording quality. Anything less than sunlight or very bright lighting produced extremely grainy recordings that were so bad that after a few tests I boxed the thing up to return it immediately. The directional pad was cheap feeling and would creak when pressed and could be heard on playback. The newer Kodak series seem to do better so I will try them next.
