The good: Simple operation; 60x zoom lens; 80GB hard drive; small.
The bad: Soft, noisy video; noticeable fringing on subjects; image stabilization is electronic only; no mic or headphone jacks.
The bottom line: Sony's Handycam DCR-SR68 (and larger-capacity SR88) offers up ample storage and a megazoom lens at a reasonable price; one look at the standard-definition video, though, and you might regret not spending a bit more for an HD model.

Pros: Lightweight (not a lot, just makes it seem like more quality ;) )
Great quality VIDEO! (Read summary) Loads of features like bright video light, touchscreen, high zoom, large capacity HD and more!Cons: Could have a better battery life with the battery that comes with it.

Also you dont NEED to use PMB, just extract your files from the camera's HD directly! Love this since i got it on closeout at sears for $229.99 and i'm VERY happy with it! Video light is BRIGHT and low light (3 lux) is excellent. I will be glad to do a video review, once i find a camera i can film this camera with! Thanks for reading my review!

Great Hardware for the money-software limitation huge

Pros: small, easy to use, solid video quality for just over $300
Cons: Serious problem with PMB. Software does not allow export in any format that retains full resolution. But can't read/manipulate files in anything else (WMP, WMM, etc) and retain the sound. Probably codec problem, but NO Sony support, so unsure.

With any of the export formats, it degrades. But can't use other software - Can't retain the sound if I open the native files in WMM or WMP. Can't get picture in Any video converter or AVS video converter. Sony's help essentially blames the other packages. Sorry, Sony, even if you're right that it's their fault, when I try four different widely used software packages and it doesn't work, it's on you to at least provide decent direction on your web site, which you don't.

Great size and Hard Drive

Pros: This device is great, and has a small aluminum body making it easy to carry, the 80GB hard drive makes recording every moment much easier. Easy to switch modes b/w camera and video, the touch screen helps using the device.
Cons: The video transfer to the computer doesn't really get good results. Recording do not have good resolution.
