Great Camcorder, Camera, and MP3 Player for the $$
by xDrzLx on September 4, 2007
Pros: Very good video quality. Stills are solid. Mp3 Player sounds great and is easy to Transfer music to. Very Compact for this kind of device. Interesting control scheme.
Cons: The Joystick is a Bit Tricky at Times. Sometimes you'll finger will Get in the Way of the Shot. Includes Terris and Some other Games on it But the Controls are Terrible.
Summary: This Camcorder is also a Voice recorder, MP3 player, and a game player.

First the Camcorder. Very good quality for the price. Not the best, but FAR from the worst. Great for a teen to put Youtube/myspace/car ******** videos on the internet. Although your hand might get in the way if your not careful. I manage to avoid it alot and I have BIG hands. Works well in low light places. U can swivel the screen '180 to take videos of yourself if thats your thing.
Now the Camera. Pretty much the same as the camcorder. Plus the flash is very bright and will fill up the room with little problem. Swivel the screen again for self portraits.
MP3 Player. Included with the camcorder is some earbuds to listen to vids and music if u want. Quality is solid and getting MP3's there is simply sticking the USB cable into the computer and getting into the file and moving music from the folder into the MP3 folder of the device.
Other stuff. Never bothered to toy with the voice recorder but expect the same audio as if u we're making a video. Included with the device u get Earbuds, A/V cable to play stuff on your TV. Although quality isn't perfect cause of the big screen. Rechargable battery lasts a while and takes about 4 hours to charge according to vupoint website. Takes SD cards up to 1GB also according to Vupoint, BUT other people and reviews are saying it will support 2 and 4GB cards but I can't confirm that. More stuff including a wrist strap and a little pouch to carry it.
Overall its a great device for anyone who wants a good camcorder at a budget price. Since it can be your camera and MP3 Player aswell, Shell out the $150 at Wal-mart or $148 Shipped at Newegg as of 9/4/07. Don't forget a few SD cards because you'll fill it fast if u use it for all 3 things as I do.3 out of 3 users found this user opinion helpful.

Pros: Great video quality, 5 mp CMOS sensor, small, rechargable battery, price, large view display

Summary: This is a great camcorder. Much better than I expected. The quality of the video is excellent. The only drawbacks were that the video quality is greatly reduced if you zoom. Granted it is an inexpensive camcorder with a digital zoom. The other drawbacks were that when I was pushing the record or menu buttons, my fingers tended to get in the way of the lens. Also, it would be great if the camera supported the larger SD cards available these days, like the 2 or 4 GB cards. None of these in my mind degrade what this camera is intended to be. I will now hang up the JVC GR500 mini-DV in favor of the Vupoint. I highly recommend the Vupoint for all but the most serious videographers who don't mind lugging all that equipment around. I'd rather haul my three kids and still be able to capture all their moments!

Great 5 in 1 camcorder!
by kkat51 on September 11, 2008
Pros: Great camcorder for the price! Has a great video camera and takes still shots. Has a MP3 player, voice recorder and even has several games on it. Along with its compact size and memory card capabilities, it a great camcorder for its price.
Cons: Would be nicer if the joy stick was not so sensitive. Has a couple of features like continuous shots and stabilization that once you turn off the camera, the setting return to the off position. Would be nice if they stayed on until you changed them.
Summary: I love it! I would recommend it to all. Mine is refurbished so I spent an extra $17.00 and extended my warranty.

Died before I filled up the memory the first time
Pros: Madew great video and clean pics form a handy form factor and decent price.
Cons: Died during first day of use. Will ony work if you jiggle power cord just right and not at all on battery.

Summary: I bought it, hooked up to charger when I got it home and took about a half hour of vieo and a few stills then it quit. Never worked again. Tried charging with power outlet and tried running directly on USB and never could get it to work. Bought at at WalMart and didn't keep up with paperwork so no hope of support. Bought a Kodak, and it's proven to be bulletproof.

Summary: user's manual gives no specifics. software is not recognized. I was hoping to be able to download videos and pictures to my pc. Once connected, the computer doesnt recognize new hardware even though driver has been installed. If I can't get my money back I will throw it against a brick wall as hard as I can.

Excellent camcorder! Great price. Kids love it, too.

Pros: Sharp pictures in any light. Small, light weight. Easy to use.
Cons: Needs SD Card not included. Editing software could be better.

Summary: This is everything I was looking for in a camcorder. It is small and light weight. Fits in a pocket, goes anywhere. It has a CCD sensor by Panasonic and that is a big plus for this low priced camcorder. It takes great pix in any light, and I mean any -- daylight to candlelight. See youtube.com user AlineCarriere Video "The Whole" for an example of what this camcorder can do for $150.00 (Wal-Mart). This is a movie my 13 year old made the day we got it and she put it through its paces. She used Windows Movie Maker because she had trouble with the editing software that the camcorder came with, but great results (well, the movie content may not be great, but it looks good--even better on MediaPlayer). She's even filming running after her brother and it looks good. We had no problems downloading to the computer. All around good camcorder, easy to use and fun.
Updated
It has an internal memory, but quite small so I got a 1G SD card for it and it was fine. Also takes great still pictures. A+
