Awesome Still/HD Video Camera
by Danbear58 on June 6, 2011
Pros: Beautiful stills and awesome HD Video
variety of settings and AF feature is awesome.
Flawless image quality and 55mm II is very adequate starter lens.
live action articulating LCD view screen.
The self cleaning sensor is awesome.
Cons: Settings can be confusing to novice use AF/AEB setting mostly
operating manual is almost too comprehensive
battery life disappointing, hav 2 more for video/live action mode and flash
balance is a bit front heavy with lens attached
Summary: Canon T3i DSLR is an awesome camera with it's vast configuations/modes and beautiful images.

Summary: Canon T3i DSLR is an awesome camera with it's vast configuations/modes and beautiful images.
A bit pricey for the quality, wished it a bit more substantial in it's construction material.
I hope to get a better lens for even better imaging capability

Great 1st DSLR
by Jimb2006 on April 25, 2011
Pros: No shutter lag whatsoever. I recommend spending a few extra dollars on either a 17-85mm or 17-55mm lens instead of buying the kit lens. The kit lens is still ok if you are a beginner and don't have the extra cash though. Eventually you'll want to upgrade.
Cons: My only con is when shooting for a long period of time I have big hands and need more to grab onto. Buying a battery grip by Canon or Zeikos is an excellent and affordable add on and makes the body much easier to hold.
Summary: Whether you're a beginner or a pro the T3i won't disappoint. If you're a beginner play with it shoot everything you can think of so you learn ...

Summary: Ok, I'll admit this is my first DSLR that I owned, but I played around with and borrowed earlier iterations of this and various Nikons. I also went for the 18-135mm kit option. I was not disappointed. The kit lens takes excellent pictures, shutter and auto-focus speeds excellent. I took some excellent shots of my kids running around an indoor playground. In several of the shots they are leaping of objects frozen in mid-air with absolutely no blurring.
And I know so little about DSLRs - I mean I am using it as a point and click on auto!
Excellent camera - so pleased with th purchase.

Very cheap! Don't buy!
by wumpshire on February 16, 2012
Pros: It use to have the best specs for video and with 18 megapixels at the lowest price point. This is not the case anymore.
Cons: Camera is made to brake, so you have to buy a new one every few years. Canon is deceptive, not a good company except for their pro products. Go Panasonic or Nikon for DSLR, they care about quality.
Summary: With the rapid change in camera technology, I'd say buy something else. This camera is obsolete when you compare to whats out there now. It use to be the ...

Summary: With the rapid change in camera technology, I'd say buy something else. This camera is obsolete when you compare to whats out there now. It use to be the cheapest-for-the-most DSLR with good video, but thats not true anymore. Canon also raised the price of this camera, it use to be $650 now its selling for $799.
