The good: The Canon PowerShot A2400 IS and PowerShot A2300 have very good picture quality for their class and are loaded with effects and filters.
The bad: The cameras' flat buttons and cramped layout may make use difficult for some and shooting performance is slow, particularly shot-to-shot. The lenses require a lot of light or high ISOs when zoomed in. Battery life is short.
The bottom line: The entry-level Canon PowerShot A2400 IS and its IS-less linemate the A2300 are simple cameras with nice picture quality for casual snapshooters, but the price difference isn't worth sacrificing the image stabilization.

Blown Out and Blurry Pics

Pros: This camera's design is nice. Small and easy to carry. Easy to pull from the pocket in those "I need a pic of this!" moments. I like the "discreet" mode for those concerts when you want to get a pic of your favorite singer without disturbing others.
Cons: This camera can't focus.The image stabilizer is TERRIBLE. I have a RebelT2i and comparing the IS is no contest.All my pics (whites) are always blown out & overexposed and just terrible quality pics. Not worth taking to your child's Christmas concert.

Summary: I had an older Canon Powershot and it pained me to part with it. The pics were great for a point and shoot. I thought this model would be an improvement... I was DEAD WRONG. This camera is terrible and I definitely wasted my money on this purchase. All the colors are undersaturated and whites get blown out completely. PLEASE don't waste your money on this camera. For a few dollars more, upgrade to a better camera. Don't cheap out on this camera. My 3 year old niece is just learning how to use a camera and I wouldn't even give this model to her. I wrote the company to tell them how disappointed I was. Don't get me wrong, I love Canon but this particular camera is fit for the garbage.
