I think this is the most honest review.
My main problem with this camera is that it takes bad pictures indoors. You need a lot of lighting to make this camera take good pictures. The flash is horrible and causes a lot of red eye. Taking indoor pictures, I always have to correct the photo. Red eye and camera spots are the biggest issue. Don't use the video. It's not very good.
On a positive note, it takes great pictures whenever there's plenty of lighting and you don't have to rely on the flash!!!!! Seriously that's what this camera is good for!!5 out of 5 users found this user opinion helpful.

Pros: DEPENDABILITY, highly affordable, very portable, great selections on mode dial, so easy to use
Cons: Not as small as you might like, but you will love and not be disappointed by this little Nikon

Summary: I have had this Nikon for just over a year, and I could not love it more. It is the reason that I actually started to get serious about photography!! We actually got this camera by luck, it was the last in the store at Costco, where we payed the way-low price of only $120. WORTH its weight in gold, the main Pro is the dependability. We bought this cam last minute because in the next few days I was going to the National Spelling Bee. Naturally, I needed a non bulky, dependable, easy to manipulate camera. This did the trick. I have THOUsands of priceless memories of not only the Bee, but of many beautiful pictures because of this cam. I gave it a ten because I have NEVer been disappointed.
The 2 megapixel factor has never been disappointed either, most people would see that as too small and pay more for a cam with more Unnecessary megapixels! Unless you are a very serious photographer, or are always printing large photos, this is all you need!
There are some complaints about purple fringing and noisy zoom. You just have to know how to work it! In all my photos I have never seen any purple fringing, and as for the noisy zoom? It isnt that loud at all, though it is on the noticeable side, it is not annoying or bothersome and should not at all be a reason to turn down this awesome affordable camera! You will be very impressed at how great everything, including image quality, turns out for a cam this cheap!!! Perfect 10 for what comes out of the money you spend on this cam! -

Summary: I've had mine for two years now and I love it so much I've given three more away as gifts. The proformance out of this inexpensive little camera is in my opinion amazing. It's been everywhere with me, From Hiking in the Colorado mountains up in the clouds to 85feet below seawater in South Florida with an aftermarket underwater case by Fantasea. This camera is a true proformer. It turns on fast for that quick shot you don't want to miss and the quality of the images are usually perfect 9 out of 10 times. And if they rarely arn't quite perfect the first time, it's very easy to view and quickly delete that image for another. The colors are never off and the autofocus is very quick and accurate. The design fits the palm of your right hand like a glove and positions the buttons used most right were you need them, everything easily controled with out putting down your drink in your left. It's pretty tough too. I've dropped it a few times and it's scuffed up a little but it still works like a charm. The only negative I have to mention is that it and as with most digi-cameras the batteries get drained quickly. Other than that, for the money, compact size, and proformance, The Nikon Coolpix 2100 Rocks!

great camera, great pictures
Pros: light, small, good quality pictures in multiple light situations, multiple settings, easy of use
Cons: larger aperture range would be desirable
-
Very Good Camera...
Pros: I like the variety of settings for multiple environments. The screen is really good, and so is the zoom features. The flash settings really help out when conditions are not at their best for photography.
Cons: Battery life is not good at all, and some settings require the camera to be completely stable, which is usually impossible

Great Camera, Worth every penny!
Pros: It's easy to use the second you get it, transferring pictures is also incredibly easy. If your a first time digital camera user like i was it was so comfortable. It was a little tricky figuring out the different modes, but after glancing over the manual q
Cons: the videos you can make are silent. Thats it

Awesome value for starter
Pros: Cheap, Nikor lens, Great pictures (good enough for 4x6 shots printed at Sam's Club), Tons of presets to get that perfect picture, Decent battery life, Almost 400 shots (at the camera's highest setting) from a 256 mb card!
Cons: "Clunky" design, Weak flash, Poor video quality even at the best setting, No sound in video, Short videos ..really trying hard to fill this with something
-
only style here
Pros: Easy to use. lots of features
Cons: Quality of pictures got worse over time. Cannot see LCD in night setting& takes but pics compared to Cannon A75
