Just OK, but that's about it.

Pros: Small, light and easy to carry. Large LCD screen
Cons: No viewfinder, battery does not clip in and battery compartment can be accidentally opened easily

Summary: I had a Canon S30 before this, and I think the S30 took better pictures than the DSC-T1, even at 3 Megapixels vs. 5 for the Sony. In low light, the Sony flash does not illuminate any subject beyond about 8-10 feet. Pictures of people in a restaurant booth will result in the people nearest the camera being illuminated, and the ones farthest away will be darker and blurred if they moved. The battery is not held in place with any clips or even with friction. The battery compartment is easy to accidentally open, resulting in the battery dropping out of the camera. The lack of a viewfinder causes the photographer to hold the camera away from him/her. Not being able to steady the camera against your face while looking through the viewfinder results in some camera shake and unwanted movement. In low light, the lack of a viewfinder requires that the photographer use the pre-flash orange light to frame the subject(s) before shooting. This takes some practice and can be disconcerting, and also esult in some camera shake and unwanted movement

Summary: it is a pretty small size camera with 5 megapixels. the pictures come out very well when you are outside during the afternoon. BUT, during the night, the flash is very weak and the SL flash gives horrible pictures. Pictures also tend to drag quite often without flash. Many good options and features. The Red-eye flash reduction does not work what so ever. I recommend getting next years model.

Disappointing

Summary: Initially, my biggest disappointment with this camera was the blurry indoor shots. I was forced to use a flash which resulted in overexposed photos with redeye. The design is sleek but it is also hard to hold on to. My LCD was broken when I dropped the camera and because there is no viewfinder, there was no way to use the camera even though it still worked fine. Sony would charge $375 to fix, so now I'm in the market for a new camera even though this one is less than one year old and was $500. Because of the blurry photos, I would not have recommended this camera anyway, but there is NO WAY I would ever buy another camera that does not have a viewfinder.

small, decently performing camera
by yellowmaranell0 on February 28, 2005
Pros: so freakin' unbelievably tiny, big screen in back as well, internal zoom lens, picture quality is really good if your lighting is, really tiny!
Cons: picture quality is as good as your lighting unless you choose to use flash, which gives you single-plane, pale, red-eyed pictures, the flash itself is a little weak,

Very compact size
Pros: Very small size and relatively easy to use.
Cons: I would not spend the money for this camera. The pictures that come out are of very poor quality. The few pictures I did take with this camera were so dark that you could not determine who the people were in the photo. I was very disappointed in this c

Good Idea, Bad Camera
Pros: Compact & Large view screen....That is about it. Oh...No restocking fee for returns where I purchased it!
Cons: Bad focus, very little in the way of control features. Expensive than add almost necessary features....A money pit. Sony needs to rethink this one.

Summary: This camera has got to be the worst camera I've ever used. I work at Best Buy and I get to play around with all the latest models from all the brands out there. This camera has some of the worst motion blur problems and crappiest lcd's i've ever seen. I own the Canon SD300 which literally BLOWS THE T1 out of the water. So it's 5 megapixels, woopie! Its pointless to have 5 megapixels if the camera can't take good pictures. Also if you're still gonna buy this POS, be ready to fork out some big bucks for Sony Memorystick pro duo...enough said...don't buy it...warned ya...

Specifications
- Manufacturer: Sony
- Part number: DSC-T1
- Description: The Cyber-shot DSC-T1 digital camera?s LCD screen occupies roughly two-thirds of the camera's back-surface area, giving more room to see and show off images at the moment they are captured. Press the shutter release button and the camera demonstrates why it is perhaps the fastest five megapixel camera. Due in large part to Sony's Real Imaging Processor circuit, it shoots full-resolution images in one second intervals, and can capture four high-speed burst shots in less than two seconds. But the camera offers more than great still pictures. With optional Memory Stick PRO Duo cards, the T1 camera captures and plays back high resolution moving images in MPEG-VX Fine mode - good enough to make onlookers believe that it was captured with a digital camcorder.
