Okay pictures, but cheap parts.
by Mac2Dcore on August 2, 2012
Pros: It's focuses pretty quickly despite other review. Ease of use-even a the most novice can use.
Cons: We use this in conjunction of the ip10 printer for passports and have two of them. The cameras work well until 5 months in. One of our camera now has a faulty port.
Summary: You get what you pay for. Though I didn't expect such poor quality from the cameras. Our first and last Fujifilm cameras. We use Panasonic Lumix for 2 years ...
Summary: You get what you pay for. Though I didn't expect such poor quality from the cameras. Our first and last Fujifilm cameras. We use Panasonic Lumix for 2 years and no problems. Our Nikon and Canon are pretty reliable for what we put them through. I say that Sony Cybershot or Panasonic Lumix gives better performance at the same price bracket.
Best camera ever owned.

Pros: Great image quality as long as your not twitching or moving like your not supposed to do when taking a picture. Compact, Reliable, Great battery life.
Cons: So far I haven't found one

Summary: I love this camera and for anyone else out there who has said it breaks easy or its cheap blah blah. Do your research next time if you're going to be so picky. Awesome zoom ,crisp clean pictures, I use this to record and shoot anything from outdoor scenery to a salt shaker on a restaurant table. I love this camera. Ignore the nay-sayers and give it a shot.Just know like everything else you own, you have to take care of it, as long as you do, it will take care of you. :)

Worse camera I ever owned in 25 years
Piece of Junk!
by Sudderbug11 on April 16, 2011
Pros: None. I bought it because it was cheap. The zoom is good. The size fits in your pocket.
Cons: Cheap but you get worse what you pay for. Images are not crisp even at the highest resolution. Hard to hold with no grip, unlike the Fuji E900 (E-900 also takes fuzzy shots). No view finder which makes it hard to compose shots in bright sunlight--you can'

Summary: Fuji cameras are not as good as before (they were never as good as Olympus). And missing great shots because the camera freezes/locks up or there is no viewfinder is enough to make me change brands and never look back. Most point and shoots this season have eliminated the viewfinder--a horrible idea!!!! I want to return the camera as it worked for only a few months but by the example of the other user, I guess I'll avoid throwing good money after bad and just buy a Nikon or a Cannon from now on. Fuji=piece of junk!
Not Reliable - NOt Worth the Trouble
by danielfishman on February 8, 2011
Pros: The image quality is good for an inexpensive P&S and the sensor size at 14MP stands out.
Cons: Mine started failing within a few weeks. Lens would not retract on power off and message appears saying turn off and turn back on - often would repeat many times. Needed to remove battery to reset and get it to work.
Summary: Fuji service was responsive and had clearly heard this many times before. Still it is a hassle to ship it back, at my expense. With any luck, in a couple ...

You can find a better camera than this one.
by jasonopeno on July 14, 2010
Pros: We purchased this camera before we left for a vacation based on the price per megapixel. Based on MPs and zoom, we thought it would be great for the price.
Cons: This camera has very few features, and if our model is any indication, it is problem prone. It has turned out to be a lemon, and I would stay away from this Fuji model.

Summary: Within two days of receiving this camera, the shutter of the camera jammed and would not close. This made the camera unusable. When I sent it back to Fuji Canada, instead of honoring the warranty, they provided me an estimate for the repairs saying we had damaged the camera, even though we had taken a total of 10 pictures in two days. Two months later, we do not have this camera and have lost around $180 + the shipping costs incurred to send it back. Anyone looking at simple point and shoot cameras will have a lot of models to choose from. I mean, there are a ton of entry-level cameras right around this price range, and if I had to do it again, I would have purchased another Canon Powershot or a Panasonic Lumix (both of which we have been really pleased with in the past because of their picture quality, durability, and ability to stand the test of time). Even if it had worked, this particular camera has a lot less features than those other models, and based on my experience, I hope I can talk at least one person out of buying this camera. Buyer beware.
