Best quality for your money
by tx2me7377 on May 23, 2009
Pros: outstanding picture quality, great battery life, price, HD video (720p), looks great, touchscreen works well, build quality is excellent
Cons: Fuzzy when zoomed in all the way, touchscreen is hard to see in direct sunlight (i had mine on min settings though)
Summary: For the money, this is the camera to get. It takes pics that would easily compete with a $500+ Canon or Nikon. I would recommend this to any casual or ...

Great camera with high tech features for a good price
by Ben610 on March 1, 2009
Pros: I'll keep it simple here. This is a great camera. It takes stunning photos. Records HD 720p. It's 10MP.The touchscreen is cool. It's Smart Capture mode is great. It has many useful ISO levels. Panoramic shots are amazing. It's a cool looking camera.
Cons: A bit tricky to learn the touchscreen. Battery seems a bit short on life. Replaying the HD video on your PC may not look right if your computer doesn't display HD.The colors will be off. Such as reds will be blue for some reason and vice versa
Summary: Overall I really like this camera and I would recommend it to anyone who wants a high tech feature filled camera with a sleek minimalist look.

Well above average compact

Summary: I got this camera in a desperate hurry, the morning I was flying out on vacation. I had to go back to the store to return the camera I had purchased the previous day, as it did not work. They didn't have another of the same model, so I quickly ran to the camera section to look for something else.
What first drew me to the V1073 was the matte black body. I know that sounds utterly silly, but I thought it was a novel "look" since just about every toy I carry around is riddled with fingerprints. The specs seemed decent, so with my bags in the car and on the way to the airport, I said "Why not?"
The manager was brilliant, and gave me a rebate on the spot (instead of me having to mail it in) probably 'cos he wanted to make up for the inconvenience of my having to return the other camera. So in the end I paid $87 and change for it.
I gotta say, I feel like it was a STEAL! The camera is easy to use, and every shot I've printed in the two months I've had it has looked great. Yeah, it's hard to see the LCD screen sure. But I come from the old-school, look through the viewfinder days. So I'm not that bothered. I just put a hand up to shade the screen a little if I am having difficulty seeing. And yeah, some reviewers have pointed out that the zoom bar on the upper right-hand side is small. But I'm not a "zoomer." The screen is nice and big, it responds well to the touch, it has plenty of functions for you to toy with, and it doesn't intimidate, which is good for you as well as any stranger you might hand the camera to when you want your picture taken. Best of all for me, not a lot of fingerprints.
Sure, I got it for cheap . . . but I would easily have paid more for the V1073. I'm a Nikon junkie, and this is my first foray into Kodak-land . . . but I give this camera a thumbs up, for sure. -
Great camera for the price.

Pros: Easy to use. Feels good in your hands. Excellent photo quality.
Cons: The LCD is hard to see in the sunlight; There is no battery indicator and the touch menu can be a menace if you happen to be in a hurry to catch a shot.

Summary: This is a great camera for everyday use. I'm into photography and my DSLR is way to big to travel with daily. This I can just slip into my bag and go. It gives the best features of a DSLR at a fraction of the cost. High resolution, several picture modes, outstanding color quality and manual programing capabilities. What it lacks is a good zoom lens and better battery connection. I was able, however, to use immediately out of the box because the PC set-up was easy and effortless. Also, the video capabilities are good and is easy to use. All in all, it's an excellent camera for the price. Especailly if you can catch a good sale!

Decent but not great
by mistadj2u on August 11, 2008
Pros: Touch screen is a nice feature to keep up with technology
Cons: the zoom button is rather tiny and annoying. the charging plastic piece is a waste because it wont fit in the holder securely. the menu can be confusing with touch but you can get used to it.
Summary: Its ok for a basic camera or replacement camera. i think i can get used to having it but think ill look for the Olympus Stylus camera because i have ...
Summary: Its ok for a basic camera or replacement camera. i think i can get used to having it but think ill look for the Olympus Stylus camera because i have less chance breaking it and it goes underwater
Updated
I had this camera for a few days. I like the picture quality and the HD quality video (at least its better than the other video ive seen on other cameras). The zoom button is a little too tiny, like its made for women or children. The touch screen might tends to be unresponsive if your have slightly anything on your fingers. Its a little slippery to grip so i fear ill drop it sometimes. -
nice features, easy to use, great photos

Pros: touch screen, intuitive controls, lots of different shooting modes
Cons: Difficult to see LCD in bright sunlight, ok in shade

Summary: I was hoping that I could put the SD card from the camera into my Playstation 3 (80G) and watch hi-def video's on my HDTV. No joy there, but, I can view the photo's and they look awesome on the TV. I was also disappointed in how difficult it is to see the LCD in bright sunlight. You get a lot of reflections on the screen and it makes it hard to see your subject. Other than that, the camera works great and I am excited to try out more of the shooting modes.

A functional, easy to use camera with the added plus of a touch screen.
by kevinolsen27 on May 5, 2008
Pros: 10 Megapixel, Easy to use interface, HD video, Large responsive touch screen, Small but nicely weighted,
Cons: Camera must lay on side while charging (adapter for charger plugs into bottom of camera), lithium battery

Summary: The Kodak EasyShare V1073 is a great buy for those who want to jump into the touch screen craze but don't want to pay an arm and a leg for a Sony. I bought mine during Mother's Day for about $220 from Circuit City which is about $150 to $200 less than the Sony. CNET gave the Sony good ratings but I feel that the Kodak's screen is much more responsive and the interface is much more user friendly. Also, the 3 buttons next to the screen: review, menu and info, leave more space on the screen for taking pictures which lets you enjoy all three inches of it. Sure, it may be a matte screen but this prevents fingerprints from showing up which is definitely a plus. Another thing that must be pointed out is that the video is HD (1280X720) and is very high quality but takes up little space on the memory card. Overall, this is a great buy and I recommend it to all age groups. For all those who think Kodak is a cheap company with cheap products, you need to check out this camera. The build quality is excellent and the finish is not your typical Kodak plastic.
