if you were shooting in auto inside that is what happened to me
by slnicosia on December 21, 2006
Pros: Outside Pics in Auto, P, and scenes great, camera felt great in hand, easy to work loved it until printed pics
Cons: inside underexposed, Nikon told me that if inside color is off or dark you need to shot in Prog. mode
Summary: My first camera went back for underexposure issues in Auto when taken inside. The outside pics were great in Auto. My second camera went back when all reds came out ...
Summary: My first camera went back for underexposure issues in Auto when taken inside. The outside pics were great in Auto. My second camera went back when all reds came out with an orange cast. I have only owned Nikon cameras in the past 4 total, but after Tech support told me that to correct the problem means I have to use Prog. mode only to correct the W.B/ color tone I'm looking into other brand of cameras.

easy to work with ,good key positioning . weak shutters
by hamnikon on January 17, 2009
Pros: very nice camera for starters. easy menu and great for reviewing photo data and do corrections.
Cons: after shooting about 900 photos my shutter blades were disposition and kept doing 5-6 clicking noise and showing ERROR on display .it was a brand new camera no dust no physical damage could bee seen.
Summary: warranty should be covering the mechanical more than a year to be safe

Summary: This is Nikon at its best. And it's just the best of the beginning. That is, the 200 and now the 300 are continuing the Nikon legacy of "best of breed" in SLRs. Impossible to beat this camera for the money and breadth of accessories. The complete system.

Summary: I have never had a digital slr before, and although I have heard that the d200 is really better this is what I got for the price because I couldn't afford the d200. I have never been happier. The camera is fantastic and I am sure I will use it for years to come. I have already shot over 10,000 pictures. It has gotten me loads of work as a professional photographer and the tamron and sigma lenses have saved me money. My business is thriving and I owe it to this camera

Summary: I don't know if it's me, or if it's the product. Flash shots ALWAYS come out too dark. Unless I am outside and it's a perfectly sunny day, then photo quality (when shot on "auto") is very mediocre. My credit card size 5 mp camera seems to take much better pictures.
