Bad movement pictures

Summary: I am a huge fan of Olympus cameras but this camera is the worst I have ever seen. I paid $129 for this camera at Wal-Mart. Pictures look great for outdoor bright light pictures. At my daughters dance show the pictures would just blur and the flash would not go off at the right times. At the town parade the other night all the pictures were just blurry. I am going to return this camera tonight for the same thing and hope it was just the bad one of the batch.

Carry a lot of batteries
by villagesgirl on April 25, 2011
Pros: Great size , no complaints about the picstures most of the time
Cons: Horrible battery life, easy to accidently push the on button if storing in purse or pocket

Summary: I bought this because of the compact size and that aspect is great. It fits in a small purse or my pocket which is what I wanted (except that it seems that the on button gets pushed on once in a while). BUT, it seems to me that the battery life is extremely low, it even seems to drain the battery when the camera is off. I've never used a camera with this type of battery so maybe the poor battery performance is normal, but I will look for something more reliable.

Easy to use, good picture quality- but it's broke!
by jmoleman on November 25, 2009
Pros: The camera is small, easy to use and takes good pictures. Good value for the money
Cons: It broke after approximately 250 pictures
Summary: I got this camera as a gift and used it sparingly for 4 months. I took it on a trip and snapped about 200 pictures and after recharging the battery, ...
Summary: I got this camera as a gift and used it sparingly for 4 months. I took it on a trip and snapped about 200 pictures and after recharging the battery, the camera stopped working. On power-up, it beeped 10 times, the lens popped in and out 3 times and it shut off. That's it. I got in touch with Olympus and was told that the camera was out of warranty and I would need to ship it to them for repairs. I could not justify paying to repair a camera that only worked for 200 pictures. Olympus would not budge, so the camera is sitting in my desk at work. I have an extra battery and charger if anyone wants it, email me at jmol921@yahoo.com. Pay for shipping and it's yours. I have an Olympus OM-2n that I owned for nearly 30 years and it works fine, so it's not the old-style cameras that stink. Just the newer digital ones.

Nice Camera for its size and money!
by TheVetteMan on March 22, 2009
Pros: I love the compact/sleek design. The picture quality is steps ahead of my previous camera (3.2 MP Hewlett Packard). It has a great assortment of features to play around with also.
Cons: It is a bit of learning curve as far as the buttons and features, but once you get that down, it is no longer a "Con."
Summary: I received this as a birthday present, but even for the money it is a good camera. It came with an adapter for a MicroSD card and I ordered a ...
Summary: I received this as a birthday present, but even for the money it is a good camera. It came with an adapter for a MicroSD card and I ordered a 2gb off the internet for $7 shipped, the xD Card from Walmart was around $2X. I also picked up a spare off brand battery for $12.50 shipped which is a steal compared the for $45 for an Olympus one.
So far its been a great camera, and for a beginner or just "for fun" picture taker, I think this camera is a great "bang for your buck." -
Stylish and functional
by dhxkdhkrmfpdltm on March 21, 2009
Pros: Auto-focus, thin, light, big LED screen, zoom in and out, movie mode, macro and super macro mode, fits in your hand(just a little bigger than a credit card), not bulky, great battery life, easy connection with the PC, 8.0MP
Cons: there is no eye-piece that you can look through..(this didn't bother me at all.)
Some people might feel it is too light..
There is no memory card included, so you have to go out and buy one. Without the memory card, it can only store 10 pictures.Summary: This camera exceeded my expectations. I like it a lot and I recommend to other people who are looking for lightweight, easy, and high quality digital cameras.

Decent camera for the money...
by mr_mike_m on February 13, 2009
Pros: small, slightly bigger than a credit card, and 3/4 inch thick.
8 megapixels, and takes movies with sound. lightweight.
good on-screen functions. Macro, super-macro, good auto-timers. Ability to change auto-program modes based on scenes.Cons: mediocre battery life. battery doesn't appear to charge while plugged into USB.
extra batteries list for $45!! (The battery is the size of a matchbook) I buy batteries for laptops that cost $100, so $45 for this little thing seems way out of line.Summary: Decent, lightweight camera that produces excellent images for the money, but the battery life and cost of extra batteries are a big downside.
