Disappointing at best
by howdyisneill on January 10, 2011
Pros: Nothing really is above average
Cons: Picture quality is bad. Menus are a pain to get to. Poor grip for big hands. Feels cheap to hold.

Summary: I was after the huge zoom range. Well it sucks to be honest. My Panasonic 18X zoom when optically zoomed to eqaul this Olymbus blows it away in clarity. I'm very disappointed in this camera in too many ways to list. Look at Panasonic or elsewhere and save yourself disappointment. Actually this is the worst digacam I've ever owned.

Awesome camera with awful battery life
by anirban80 on September 10, 2010
Pros: Next best to SLR camera, fantastic zoom & clarity, fantastic mode selections.
Cons: Battery is very bad, drains very quickly. Date and time cannot be displayed over photos except when printing. A viewfinder was a must for saving battery life.
Summary: The product is worth buying only if the battery had been good enough, a viewfinder was an absolue necessity to save battery life.

More features than I will ever use.
by HOME_n_OREGON on August 15, 2010
Pros: Ease of use and quick setup in P Mode. Quality of pictures, compact size
Cons: No negatives for the camera after 2 weeks of use.
Nomenclature is different from my Nikon SLR for some functions.Summary: Mostly pictures of the grandchildren playing around waterfalls. Picture quality and stabilization is very good for both still and video. 14 MP and 28 - 840mm zoom gives me the ...
Summary: Mostly pictures of the grandchildren playing around waterfalls. Picture quality and stabilization is very good for both still and video. 14 MP and 28 - 840mm zoom gives me the ability to crop and still have good resolution.
The image quality is very good. However, I have missed quite a few shots indoors, low lighting.
Panorama mode was an unexpected plus and again, easy to use. Video set up is automatic, a single ON/OFF "button" to start/stop the video and get back to taking still pictures.
Price was $229.95 at Costco.

So far the camera has been met all my expectation
by MrCjis on October 28, 2010
Pros: The features seem endless and work as described. The on board memory made the camera very operational right out of the box. After shooting nearly 2000 shots, I have very little bad news regarding this camera.
Cons: Ok, its not perfect! I do miss a viewfinder. It hasn't got the grip the larger camera's have but you can adjust.
Summary: I've had the camera for 9 months and shot ove 2000 pictures with very good results. Both night and dayliight shooting came out better than expected. When not in ...
Summary: I've had the camera for 9 months and shot ove 2000 pictures with very good results. Both night and dayliight shooting came out better than expected. When not in auto mode, you do have to pay attention to you settings, they will make or break the shot. The most unique feature is the "panorama mode", it was easy to use and the results were great. Like I said, the features are endless !

Great performer, clean lines, feature packed
by slick312 on January 31, 2011
Pros: This is a camera anyone can pick up and start taking great pictures immediately. It has an excellent interface, controls are intuitive. I don't mind the lack of a viewfinder, it was easy to grip steadily.
Cons: The zoom doesn't work in video capture. The Olympus software was clunky; I prefer the photo management software in Windows 7.

Summary: I bought this as a "bridge camera" between the ease and quick setup of a point-and-shoot and the greater flexibility of an SLR. I particularly like the long zoom in such a compact camera body. I've had this for about 2 months and have tried it under a variety of conditions: it performs as well as larger cameras I have owned.
