Pros: Touch screen. I bought a clear cover to protect it - would be nice if this was included. Quick from turning on to taking a pic. Good speed between shots. Auto intelligent mode is great for lazy photographers like me. Video quality is good.

Summary: I did a lot of research online before buying a new camera. The main things I wanted were: - point and shoot - not too large - good lens - wide angle - good zoom - auto and some manual features - not too gimmicky - video, limited only to memory card - HD images and video - ability to zoom during video recording - not too expensive in comparison to similar cameras available - no GPS - touch screen a bonus.
The Panasonic FX580 pretty much covered all these things. I have only had it for a month so far, but I am very happy with my purchase.
