Complete waste of money, do not buy this camera
by maya111111111 on October 31, 2011
Pros: 16X zoom could be good addition to quality camera, in case of Panasonic it is complete disaster
Cons: everything else including Panasonic customer service (awful)

Completely disappointed with product (extremely low quality product and extremely bad Panasonic support, I will never buy Panasonic brand)" -
good compact point and shoot.
by pgee70 on October 6, 2011
Pros: great wide angle.
large images, quick to learn/easy to use.
in well light conditions, takes good photos.
the face recognition/exposure feature is pretty cool.Cons: the low light avchd recording quality is exceptionally poor. especially under fluorescent lights. the videos taken had many blue lines through them. using the same conditions, the .jpg/mov format worked fine (but at a lesser resolution)

but sometimes you don't want to pack all that kit when you go away.
So if you accept its limitations, its a pretty good camera for its size and price.
I didn't think the battery life was terrible -- i recently used to to record some video -- it was on for a few hours recorded 40 minutes of video and only used half a battery. -
Very poor quailty photos.
by melaniejones98 on September 23, 2011
Pros: fast shutter speed
Great outdoor pictures in good lightCons: Flash doesn't seem bright enough
all my indoor med. light photos were grainy
I could not take a single picture of my kids on their bikes without them being blurrySummary: Very disappointed in this camera. other than outside in full light I didn't get a single picture that was good quality

So far, what a great camera for the $$$
by kbchicago on July 29, 2011
Pros: 24mm wide angle lens is sweet
16x zoom and even more if you lower the megapixels (read up on this)
Small/compact size, will fit in your pocket
Fast shooting- some of the older lumix models are slowwww
LCD screen is 3"...that's quite nice
Too many pros toCons: None that I've experienced yet
Summary: Purchased this camera with a Lumix leather pouch, 4GB chip for a steal of a price from C-stco, $260...that's much better than anywhere else currently.

Great picture-quality, zoom range, but very slow GPS
by peterbley on June 14, 2011
Pros: Excellent lens and zoom range produce excellent photographs; easily fits into a pocket. Wide range of features
Cons: GPS is VERY slow in updating correct location-locks, which dramatically reduces the value when 'on-the-go'. A viewfinder is badly missed in bright sunshine. Battery life is short

Summary: I bought the camera mostly because of the GPS function, and am very disappointed by the limited usefullness due to the time it takes to lock a new location. I am positively surprised by impressive zoom-range and the quality of the photographs the camera takes that are comparable to higher-end SLR camera. Like most point-and-shoot cameras today, the lack of a view-finder is annoying in bright sunshine -- and I wonder how many users will ever successfully use more than 10% of functionality. Invest in a second battery when travelling

Great little camera that fits in my shirt pocket
by jbkirkpatrick on May 25, 2011
Pros: Nice zoom range, love the 24mm wide angle capability. The GPS tagging is a very neat feature helping us ID photos from a recent trip to western Europe. Lot's of extras to help with different lighting situations. A cool low light mode that takes a bunch of
Cons: Expensive. Low light photos aren't as nice.....(But hey, it's low light, right?)
Summary: Would recommend this camera to anyone with out hesitation.
