The Samsung TL100 is just a basic ultracompact point-and-shoot with not much going on except its small size. The 12-megapixel camera is just 3.7 inches wide by 2.2 inches high by 0.6 inch deep.
Like any decent point-and-shoot camera in its class, the TL100 has a largish LCD at 2.7 inches and a 3x optical zoom. It also has the shooting options currently in vogue: face, smile, and blink detection, auto scene recognition, and full-resolution ISO settings up to 1600.
It's reasonably priced for the specs, too, and will be available for purchase starting in April 2009.

Great, slim, light-weight camera
by reeder156 on September 2, 2009
Pros: Light-weight, slim, big display screen, easy point and shoot modes
Cons: Mediocre battery life. Slow response time in between taking pictures.

Summary: Great deal on a camera that has a lot of features for a small price. The camera is very sleek looking and very slim. The EASY shoot mode is perfect for point and shoot pictures. The battery life is not that great, but it charges so quickly that it doesn't matter that much. The display on the back is huge and very clear.

Great by day, not so much at night...
by NovaBUSFan on July 23, 2011
Pros: The picture quality is great, and it can focus on small object like coins or small flowers! That's what's good.
Cons: Sometimes, when taking a daytime photo, you get these bars on the picture, but that isn't a huge problem most of the time. When you're in a dark room, you get an orange tint, pictures or video... oh, and the video... Let's just say that sound wise, my old

Summary: All in all, it's a fitting replacement to my old S760, but it has flaws that could have been perfected better, considering the person who sold it to me payed somewhere in the $200 CDN range when it was new. Otherwise, it's a good point and shoot!

Giant flaws I just couldn't get over
by milkblue82 on March 28, 2010
Pros: It is very nice, sleek and light and I loved the big display screen. It also felt durable. It definitely stands out as a nice looking camera, but that's about all the good it had.
Cons: Flash is too bright, pics came out fuzzy, stabilizer wasn't very helpful and the instructions came in a CD only for PC and not Mac.
Summary: Here is the breakdown of the things I couldn't come to terms with.

1. Flash pictures came out too bright and if you took out the flash, pictures came out orange and fuzzy. I messed with settings and just couldn't come up with good pictures.
2. The load time was slow when you scroll through pictures on the camera. I had to wait a couple seconds before being able to move to the next picture.
3. The menu was frustrating. Every time I made a selection it left the menu. I would have to go back to the menu all over again and find where I left off on making setting selections every time.
4. Close up pictures came out sharp but like I said before, without the flash it still looked fuzzy and with the flash the image looked great. However, there seemed to be a spotlight look where the edges of the picture came out dark.
I really tried to make myself like this camera. It was just too attractive and I am a Samsung fan. However, when it came right down to it, I wasn't comfortable with settling with this purchase. I returned it back to the store a week later after messing with it in as many settings as possible. It just isn't worth buying. I bought a Canon PowerShot SD1400 IS to replace it and I haven't had it very long but I can tell a big difference. It doesn't have any of the flaws the Samsung had. I am happy now! -
not worth it at all
by meonetwo on February 4, 2010

Summary: The battery has to be in to charge the camera. No backup battery charging this way since there is no separate charger. Charge cable is one foot! long. Camera has to sit on the floor. Cable end going into camera is tiny and was very difficult to put in and dust flap gets in the way the whole time.
Battery/card door pops open with the slightest touch.
When playing back a photo, it takes forever to scroll around. My 2 1/2 yr old canon sd800 is 3-4 times faster.
Display had ghosting of image. Aim at something, move and you see a dragged/ smeared version of what you were looking at.
I am so disappointed -
Great for everything EXCEPT evening and night shots.
by Evolved4m on September 17, 2009
Pros: An overall great digital camera with decent quality and pictures.
Cons: TERRIBLE for shooting photos at night or where lighting is dim (bars, clubs, etc.)
Summary: Bought this camera for my girlfriend as a birthday gift... and she HATES it. I don't blame her neither.

This camera has easy navigation, decent picture quality, and plenty of features. Battery life is great as well. The Beauty Shot feature is great for that "magazine cover" look. The only downside is the camera cannot shoot night shots no matter what setting I tried. I would pass on this camera just for that sole reason. There are plenty of other cameras at this price range with better overall quality. -

Decent camera, but one slight flaw
by SharpAsSharingan on March 29, 2009
Pros: lightweight, slim look, good looking menu, easy to use, recommended for firsttimers
Cons: slow shutter speed, mediocre IS (Image Stabilization)
Summary: I enjoyed this product and hope to see a newer yet better version. But, i've never seen a photography class product like this from Samsung.
