Incredible pictures! None better!!

Pros: - user friendly interface
- exceptional pictures ... even in low light
- powerful sensor
- vivid color
- really usable as a compact video (reasonable mic)Cons: - a bit big in comparison to a compact
- zoom isn't great in comparison to a high end compact
- small lens is useless
- I wish they made a case that fit it

Summary: I had the best Panasonic (Lumix) for a few months before the best thing in the world happened... my wife dropped it on it's lens from about 6 feet up. That camera was the pits (except for the zoom). So, when I went looking for a new camera I accepted the fact that my point and shoot would become my phone, and I was really looking for a camera that actually took good pictures. Based on friends reviews, I knew that a good DSLR would fit the bill, but I was intrigued by the Sony NEX. I bought it under the assumption that I'd return it if I wasn't total sold on it after a weekend out of town. Well needless to say I've never returned it. The picture quality is awesome... comparable if not better than entry level DSLRs. I was moving up from a nice point and shoot. So, the easy user interface is great, and the camera will give you tips based on what the camera senses you are shooting. I imagine a real photographer would find the tips funny, but for someone like me, they are really helpful.
I only have two wishes and one regret:
wish (1) It came with a case that is designed for the camera
wish (2) without making me carry around a huge lens, the zoom would be more powerful
regret: buying that dumb little lense. Do yourself a favor, just by the 18-55mm lens and forget the small one.1 out of 1 users found this user opinion helpful.
