unbelievable value at this price. fantastic quality.

Pros: this DSLR is easy to use and offers many shooting options for this price level. Solid build but not too heavy. The auto focus is fast and works in video mode.

Summary: When I purchased the Sony a57 I was looking for a DSLR that could record high quality videos as well as great still shots. The big difference between the a57 and others is that it records 29 straight minutes of video at a time and the auto focus works during video recording. another great feature is the auto leveling of the mic. both external and internal mics get auto leveling and it works great. recording loud rock bands is easy and I don't have to worry about overloading the mic input. most other DSLR's require that you record on an external unit. Menus are easy to follow on the a57. nothing is too buried. the most fantastic feature is the quality of the photos this camera creates. Low light photos still look good without a lot of noise. I use the 18-55 and 55-200 Sony lenses. Both are excellent. In my opinion this is the camera to select over the Sony a58. It seems like they cut some corners on the a58 although I'm sure that it is also a great camera. 16.1 mega pixels is plenty to get the job done. Full 1080P HD is also great for videos. You'll enjoy this camera.
