The good: Revolutionary Google TV software enables potential access to virtually all online media with a powerful interface; excellent wireless keyboard; user interface overlays over TV content from cable/satellite box; can control TV, AV receiver, and cable/satellite box with built-in IR emitters; Google search bar looks through both online and offline content; built-in Chrome browser that supports Flash and HTML5 video; streams music, videos, and photos from a connected PC or DLNA device; Android Marketplace coming in 2011.
The bad: Major content providers like Hulu, CBS, and ABC are currently blocking Google TV; user interface geared toward power users; Google's "universal" search doesn't search Netflix; antiquated Netflix interface; limited app selection at launch; expensive compared with simpler devices like Apple TV and Roku XDS; too many bugs with current software; significant network performance issues with our review sample; doesn't work with older, non-HD TVs.
The bottom line: The Logitech Revue with Google TV is loaded with potentially game-changing functionality, but its high price, numerous caveats, and current assortment of bugs make it best-suited to early adopters--at least until promised firmware fixes become available.

I don't care what you think. I like it!
by bgibson135 on December 20, 2011
Pros: Great keyboard interface. Can use free "WIFI Keyboard" app, to connect Revue keyboard to your Android phone to type in assorted programs. Connects well with Netflix. Great for travel (connect to HDTV in hotel). "Evernote" app works. 2 USB ports.
Cons: Dumbed down Chrome browser. No PDF app.
Summary: I bought it at the right price $99. It was easy to set up. A cheap Web appliance, that does a bunch of video very well. Can blog and email ...

Even if it's not connected to the Internet, you can use the USB ports to connect video, photos, audio from Flash or external drives for presentations.

Nice Idea, poor execution
by jopa2011 on September 17, 2011
Pros: Pass-thru web browsing on your TV
Some interesting apps
Usable full qwerty keyboardCons: Chrome browser very slow and buggy and crashes a lot
UI response to input too slow and experience suffers as a result
Needs a much faster processor, obviously
Content blocked by my favorite sites
Netflix app is outdated

Summary: I primarily bought this for web-browsing on my TV and watching internet videos on same. The built-in Chrome browser is painfully slow to load many sites, crashes often, doesn't have the latest version of Flash (so NFL Rewind doesn't work) and sites such as HULU and ESPN3,com stop their content from even playing on it. A couple of the built-in apps are worth having (PBS which is well done and it's nice to have Daily Motion as well as YouTube) , but most of them have little of interest and bombard you with ads if you try and watch any of their programming. I thought with the price drop to $99 it would be worth a try, but even for that price the Revue and Google TV just feel half-baked and poorly tested, so it's going back.

Great product, early stages.
by bigceebin4 on July 2, 2011
Pros: Sleek interface allows for 'easy-to-learn' style. Combination of tv, internet, and apps all in one.
Cons: Again, EARLY stages! Buggy at times. Not many apps. Still some networks/sites have yet to join on.

Pros: Web + TV
Great to have a keyboard for surfing/searching
Fun to be part of the futureCons: It's the early adopter's version. But oh what fun us early adopters have!

Summary: It has already created the third revolution in our viewing experience. Tivo was the first. Then Netflix + Roku was the second. Now Google brings a lot of the internet onto the same screen.
Watching OK Go or silly cat videos with the whole family. CNET's Molly Buzz in HD. A single search across of all the sources to find the content we want.
We still have to use Roku and Hulu Plus for some things - but there's a good chance by the Holidays we will get almost everything through Revue - or son-of-Revue.
Have to LOL when I read the negative comments of people who have never used it. They write those comments in the loneliness of their PC desk on their 22" monitor and I read them in the comfort of my recliner on my 73" screen in the bosom of my family. Maybe somebody is missing the point?

Great Internet and more!
by Skagwayhome2Me on April 19, 2011
Pros: I love the accessability of the whole overall Revue! everything at your fingertips
Cons: As expected the networks turned tail and ran away from a great thing.Blocking google tv's access to their sites? come on what are they afraid of,that it will be a successful item? networks will come around.
Summary: Like? I love this product,I only wish I'd gotten off the dialup sooner and had this long ago..now we're a 3 "computer" family.I call it ...
