The good: Network media streamer; enormous file playback compatibility; can access media RSS feeds and play many online video files; includes user-replaceable 500GB hard drive; 802.11a/b/g/n compatible; doesn't require Windows Media Center; plays YouTube videos (h.264).
The bad: A bit pricey; occasionally crashes; can't play any DRM iTunes Store video purchases; no access to Flash-based online video; and no streaming video services, like Netflix or Amazon Video On Demand.
The bottom line: While it's a bit pricey and far from perfect, the Netgear Digital Entertainer Elite EVA9150 offers an easy way to access the widest array of digital audio, photo, and, especially, video files for the do-it-yourself crowd.

i think its the best streamer

Pros: i have had this for a while,it works well with windows 7 64bit,which l am using,even 32bit,to get the best of this unit,have a good router,and or network card,i use netgear wndr 3700,network card bigfoot networks killer ethernet controller,l have enjoyed
Cons: software interface is poor,needs update,and the remote control

Excellent! Much better than my previous D-Link Products

Pros: Breath of fresh air as compared to the D-Link DSM series I've been using over the years. Don't what the other users mean by Windows 7 problems. Mine works flawlessly. Works excellent with NAS and and a UPNP server. Reads all video formats!
Cons: Poor draft-N wireless performance. Needs a GB Ethernet interface! Large HF file xfers to internal hard drive takes hours. HD only accessible in unit. Special HD format not accessible when plugged in as E-SATA drive. HD format should support NTFS.

Summary: All in all, a great unit! a breath of fresh air in terms of functionality and usability, especially over the D-Link DSM series media servers. The areas where this unit are lacking only come into play once in a while, but not when streaming videos. I'm replacing all my D-Link units with these.

Unit is a great concept but software too buggy

Pros: Great concept and design. 500GB hard drive is very good.
Cons: Always crashing, does not work with windows 7. Always have to reconnect wireless setup if PC is lefted off for too long. Does not stream media well with wireless setup.

Summary: Unit always crashing and losing connection to PC. After I upgraded to windows 7 unit would not reconnect to PC. Network connection is working but streaming from PC would not work. Started loading files to portable hard drive and transferring to the unit via usb connection, but some movie files, which played fine on the PC have no sound on the Netgear ELite. I give up. I have it for sale in my local newspaper.
