Great Product!
by custommx3 on October 14, 2011
Pros: It's amazing how Netgear was able to get such great performance in such a small design. This unit has lots of apps, games, and media streaming services. I can use it read Facebook, watch Netflix, or play a game right from my remote. Speaking of remote, it
Cons: No Problems!
Summary: This device does not have the ability to play streaming video/audio except from predefined sources (netflix, ect). Consider the NeoTV 550 if you want to stream from your own ...

Super media streamer works with no glitches!
by jhwilliams on November 29, 2011
Pros: Easy to set up; software updates automaticaly when you hook up to your wifi; great channel selection; huge number of available channels, and most do not require membership; easy to access menus; 1080p quality (when available from source).
Cons: Entry of movie names is a little cumbersome, but certainly does not take 10 minutes to enter a title (just a few seconds for each letter); I use my computer to move movies into Netflix Instant Queue (they're waiting for me when I fire up the NeoTV).
Summary: Best features include being able to viewing the photos you have in your Picasa on-line albums on your TV (makes up somewhat for not being able to connect directly from ...

Summary: Best features include being able to viewing the photos you have in your Picasa on-line albums on your TV (makes up somewhat for not being able to connect directly from your PC). You can also 'fling' (using Flingo) Youtube and Vimeo videos to your TV. The NeoTV connects to the Netflix & Vudu paid sites, and also to Pandora, Napster, Facebook, ACM, and tons more free channels.
IMHO, the NeoTV NTV200 is a reliable, easy to use option for those of us who don't have smart TVs yet, but do have an HDMI input or two. And its an affordably good deal.

regret the purchase returning and rebuying roku hd
by GWALKER1980 on February 2, 2013
Pros: price is 25 dollars cheaper
Cons: absolutely NO apps that are free except the ones i can get free on my pc already-even tech support admitted that netgear versus the roku that roku has WAY more subscription contracts.
Summary: thought id save a buck or two by purchasing the netgear neotv ntv-300. i even called presales ahead of time. though this device does contain both wired as well as ...

Summary: thought id save a buck or two by purchasing the netgear neotv ntv-300. i even called presales ahead of time. though this device does contain both wired as well as wireless capabilities(roku would cost TWICE if not three times the price for all that) the savings is NOT WORTH IT. this player is just a glorified pc. there is no 8ctave network(which is FREE and contains lots of good programming local and countrywide) there is NO VEVO APP(another free program) NO FREE MOVIE CHANNELS OR APPS. no disney, the interface is not very user friendly and the remote control response is HORRIBLE compared to roku.
there also is no search
WASTE OF MONEY with these players. go with roku.

I'll agree with the pure garbage comment. NTV300
by Deanna_m0 on November 20, 2012
Pros: Hooks up easily. HD to the TV.
Cons: I want to view free internet entertainment content. And, there is free content, just none I want to watch. Anything that I might want to watch that would be free to view over the air or free with my PC is not available.
Summary: Until DESIRABLE entertainment content can be streamed to watch for FREE with these devices I'm opting out. A penny saved is a penny earned - make your money off ...

Summary: Until DESIRABLE entertainment content can be streamed to watch for FREE with these devices I'm opting out. A penny saved is a penny earned - make your money off ads. Or, have a special category for FREE content on each channel (if there is any). I did not have the patience to browse every title to "maybe" find one that did not have to be rented, purchased, or subscribed to.
I am returning it to the place of purchase.

Streaming is goood, lots of content & HD when available

Pros: HD content when available, great for streaming, good buffering
Cons: Poor menu responsiveness, annoying but it does function. Rewind/Fastforward is ok but difficult to manage.
Summary: If you are debating between this and the ROKU I prefer the functionality of the ROKU, menu responsiveness is great on the ROKU in comparison to the NEO TV, otherwise ...

PURE GARBAGE; Stay away!
by oaivazian on November 25, 2011
Pros: Absolutely none- very difficult to use; giving it the minimum 1/2 star rating is beyond too much.
Cons: Horrible navigation; the remote makes it impossible to type the names of movies, shows, or channels that you want to watch. It could take 10 minutes or so to enter the name of a movie, and proceed to watch it. Just gave up.
Summary: Big mistake buying this item. It's navigation was the most excruciating process I've ever endured with electronics. It takes 10 minutes minimum to enter the title of a ...

Summary: Big mistake buying this item. It's navigation was the most excruciating process I've ever endured with electronics. It takes 10 minutes minimum to enter the title of a movie on the remote. Didn't they do a focus group or something before launching this product???
The remote is rough as stone - should be ultra-sensitive instead - to allow for not only better use - but just USE!!
And, their customer service is among the worst I've ever seen. I tried to provide feedback, and their site kept saying "experiencing technical problems, cannot provide feedback..." Are you kidding me????
Awful product; awful service. awful decision.
