The good: This sleekly styled Philips digital photo frame has a bright, high-resolution 8-inch-diagonal display, slots for most types of memory cards, and a rechargeable battery that allows you to place the unit on a shelf or a table without plugging it in to the wall. You also get four interchangeable colored borders to customize the frame's look. There's a built-in clock, an autotimer that controls when the frame goes on and off, and fairly advanced slide show functionality with multiple transitions as well as the ability to create albums right on the frame.
The bad: The frame's a bit pricey, and there's no support for video playback.
The bottom line: Despite a few minor shortcomings, Philips's 9FF2M4 digital photo frame offers impressive image quality and a strong feature set that put it near the top of the digital photo frame class.

Simple, Great Pitcure Frame

Pros: Image quality, auto on/off, able to take many types of memory cards

Summary: I have had this frame for about a year and it's great. The image quality is great, better than any other digital picture frame I've seen. I love the timer function so that you can set the frame to go on and off at certain times. The ability to use any memory card type is great. It comes with some built in memory so you won't need a memory card to get started. It's simple to use, just plug it into your PC and it shows up as a removable storage device. The battery is a nice feature, it makes it easy to pick the frame up and hand it to people to look at. The only way this frame could be better is if it had wifi to hook up with a network and grab pics from there. But that is more complicated, this is a simple to use frame. I bought one for my mother and sister and even they can figure out how to use it.

WARNING: NOT Mac-compatible

Summary: This device is supposed to be Mac-compatible? Fuhgeddaboutit. Once you spend the money and open the box, you learn that the photo manager software provided is only for the PC.
And once you do any searching online, you learn that all the problems you're experiencing as a Mac user have been experienced by others.
It's supposed to hold 100 photos. After 3 days of trying, I couldn't get it to hold more than 13. I reduced file size down to a bare minimum. I was WAY under the capacity, yet a maximum of 13 photos would load. That's trying it both from my Mac directly and from a photo memory card.
Sorry. This attractive-looking and -sounding concept is not ready for prime time if you're a Mac user. I rarely write reviews in forums like this but I don't want to see another Mac user experience the frustrations I have - and those that I now have read online that other Mac users have had with this product.
The user guide was useless and the phone technical support guys (I called twice and talked with two of them) could only read from the user guide. They were clueless.9 out of 10 users found this user opinion helpful.

Summary: I've had two Philips frames. Both died within days of purchase and couldn't be re-set. I called the factory and they can't explain it. So I'd wait for this bug to be found and fixed before investing in one of these frames. Also, I used a 4 GB CF card with 1000 pictures on it (the factory approves a 4GB card) and it seemed the same ones kept coming up, even when it was set to randomize.

Summary: I purchased this digital picture frame from Costco.com, because Philips has a reputation for quality products, and there were a number of options for picture input, using different picture "albums", and several different colored templates which attached to the front of the frame magnetically.
Unfortunately, after about a month and a half, the picture started flickering, something like a venetian blind/horizontal bar pattern. The picture was still there, but there was a lot of flickering, making it unwatchable.
I note that Costco.com no longer offers this item.
Philips offered to service it, but I would have to ship it to Arkansas at my expense.5 out of 6 users found this user opinion helpful.

I ended up purchasing from Erwin Computers (ERWINCOMP.COM) They didn't have the best price but had the best shipping options. -JR

Summary: Excellent picture due to the excellent pixel density. One of the best on the market. The rechargeable internal battery is cool because it is one of the few frames you can unplug and pass around. You Mac users that left the negative ratings need to read the specs. before you buy a product. Half the world is not Mac compatible, get over it!

Summary: Other frames have a USB port that you can easily use to add photos to your frame. I wish I had received one of those as a gift! To add photos to this frame at the office so they're viewable you have to bring your memory stick, copy to your computer, upload Phillips clunky software, hook up frame to computer using a cord and then copy using their software. FIND ANOTHER DIGITAL FRAME!

Today i turned it on and tried to insert a pro-duo stick as a source, the battery of this unit was low at that time.
When i inserted the stick, the unit's display went off. The power light was on forever, dead display.
I called up Philips, they said the unit is dead it has to be replaced.
So this is not a robust product. It can not survive even simple problems.
Think...
Amazon, as always are my best pals for buying. They are processing me a replacement. Let me see how that works.
But the quality !!!! Simply Superb !!! Value for money.1 out of 1 users found this user opinion helpful.
