The good: Easy to assemble; materials are sturdy and look elegant; nonskid pads hold laptop and stand firmly in place.
The bad: Stand wobbles easily; height not adjustable.
The bottom line: The Griffin Elevator laptop stand seems designed more for display than for ergonomics.

Avoid at all costs

Pros: Ostensibly the design is attractive. But don't be deceived.
Cons: The widely reported slippage problem continues. My MacBook Pro slipped off stand, bounded on desk and fell to the floor, denting the aluminum case and damaging the screen. Will be a very expensive repair. Other reports suggest Griffen doesn't care.

it set's the screen to far back

Pros: nice design, non-skid pads help
Cons: no document holder, laptop can be knocked off easier on platform stands

Summary: With all of these "platform" laptop stands, the screen ends up too far back which results in eye strain. Also, you don't have the added feature of a document holder like Targus' new mstand AWE26US. If they made the front part thinner, you could slip it under your keyboard. But it's currently too thick to do that. Also, when I used this stand, I found I had to be more careful not to knock the laptop off it. Because it has no restraints for the computer, you have to be very careful when placing a notebook on it and taking off each day.
