The good: Unparalleled number of port types, including FireWire; works with a great variety of Toshiba notebooks, old and new; includes AC adapter.
The bad: Hard to dock; cannot accommodate modular bay or hard drive; not height adjustable.
The bottom line: Toshiba's Advanced Port Replicator III is compact and offers more ports than any other setup, but it's not easy to attach.

Many Features But Difficult to Use

Pros: Has every port you will ever need, e.g., parallel port, serial, 4 USB, Firewire, etc.
Cons: Difficult to align laptop to dock and just as difficult to disconnect. Toshiba recommends that you should not use any ports on the laptop when the port replicator is attached. I have use the serial port on the dock but so far have not been able to get a r

Docking station does not recognize external mouse or keyboard, making this useless for our purposes.
